?Source? If that’s thevsilly Ron Paul questionnaire, it is loaded bunk. If you support pro-life and pro-marriage laws (which Perry unquestioningly does), you come out authoritarian, right conservative.
For example, here are five for comparison:
Jim DeMint is a Hard-Core Conservative.
Chris Christie is a Moderate Populist Conservative.
Sarah Palin is a Populist-Leaning Conservative.
Michele Bachmann is a Moderate Conservative.
Susan Collins is a Centrist.
Personally, I would have ranked Collins (and Snowe, who looks slightly more conservative than Christie) further to the left and down; I'm not positive how "Populist" and "Libertarian" end up on opposite sides, rather than "Authoritarian" or "Statist". I think it simply doesn't rank statism very well at all.
But the nice thing is that they have all sorts of quotes and references for each politician for the range of subjects they rank, so you can check out what they actually have said and done, and decide for yourself what that makes them in your eyes.
The website is On The Issues, and has most politicians I've tried to find. (Paul Ryan is a Hard-Core conservative, Herman Cain is a libertarian-leaning conservative, etc.)
