So now we’re all supposed to throw our careers away for this?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
“Our” career? Am I to assume that you have a career in the military? ( Just wondering since you used the word “our”.)
Do the military academies now teach that careers are more important than the military code of honor and an oath before God to defend the Constitution?
Do these academies teach that just because truth will “go nowhere” it should be ignored and that a career and pension takes precedence?
Well! As Fred Astaire might have said, “Strike me pink!”
You keep trying to pull this “honor” thing like military officers should be lemmings going over the cliff if someone says we’re not being “honorable.”
We’re supposed to be smart. “Smart” means not to commit career suicide over a demonstrably indefensible position. GEN Petraeus did not throw away a brilliant 30-year career over a lost cause, which is saying something since he was the guy who said he could win in Iraq in its worst days.
It’s very easy for someone who has no stake in such career suicide to demand that someone else do it, so I’ll ask you again, what do you think would happen if GEN Petraeus did such as you wanted him to?
