Bachmann's candidacy is hard to swallow for Minnesota feminists [Abortion acolytes sing the blues]

When Womenwinning - then the Minnesota Women's Campaign Fund - organized the first of its renowned annual fundraising luncheons 29 years ago, the thought that a Minnesota woman might someday be a major-party contender for the presidency was a remote dream.

That dream came true Monday with Republican U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann's candidacy declaration - but it seemed more like a nightmare to the 1,200 women "and a few good men" who assembled Tuesday at the Milwaukee Depot to fatten Womenwinning's coffers.

Bachmann's brand of social conservatism is anathema to an organization founded by both Republicans and DFLers in 1982 with the express purpose of recruiting, training and financing female pro-choice candidates for every level of elective office.

"I'm Minnesota's other congresswoman, the one born in Minneapolis," DFL U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum of the Fourth District said. The allusion to her Sixth District neighbor, who has been making much of her Iowa roots, evoked titters and groans.

All I want is for BACHMANN to clarify what she meant... I see this statement as unintelligible. She knew what the platform was... that short statement says the she supported jimmy cater and mondale and she worked for them and if she did not know what the people that she worked for stood for... she is beyond incompetent. I did not say these things... she did... and she should be asked to explain this in detail.

Roosevelt and Truman would be Republicans today. They wouldn’t recognize the Democrat party because it has essentially ceased to exist. It should now just be referred to as the Liberal party, what it has become.

The feminists' patron saint is Lady Macbeth. Like the Minnesota Womynwinning feminists, she didn't brook wimps who blanch at killing the innocent: "Yet do I fear thy nature. With very few exceptions we have a one party system . Obama is a puppet / figurehead , and is not POTUS , although enjoys all the privileges that office allows . When are people going to wake up and realize we have been bought lock , stock and barrel ???

Some of us are wide awake and that is why I am no longer a republican... I am a Conservative Independent. I no longer trust anyone but GOD, JESUS, Rush, Levin, Malkin and Palin. All others must verify truth and facts before I accept anything from them as truthful. There is no difference between the dim leadership and the republican leadership... none at all... the difference lies only in their rhetoric.
