The definition of who we are accepted by most, till recently anyway, includes a belief in the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the framework for implementing those principles established by the Constitution.

He is, of course, absolutely correct.

Somebody needs to explain to him about the perfect being the deadly enemy of the pretty damn good.
