They've survived off of the generosity of the taxpayers of the Commonwealth for far too long.

With the Marcellus shale play benefitting the rural areas of Pennsylvania, the urban criminals in the state assembly (working in conjunction with environmentalists and the media) are trying to impose a severance tax on the drillers.

All funding would flow into the general fund where it would then be funnelled into Philadelphia.

A few years ago, the liberals tried to impose tolls on Interstate 80 (which runs through rural Pennsylvania) with the money going to subsidize mass transit projects in Philly and Pittsburgh.

Philly is a leach upon this state.

The police can’t, or won’t, provide safety and order for it’s citizens. It’s time for Governor Corbett to step up with some State Police or call out the National Guard.

But 600 million has been approved, and a contract awarded, to build a new hospital for inmates in Stockton.

And San Quentin is putting in 289 million to improve condemned inmate facilities...

But apparently not enough prison beds.
