(CNN) -- Prosecutors dismissed a charge Monday against a community activist who was arrested while filming a police encounter with her iPod camera because she was concerned it was initiated by racial profiling.
"I'm feeling vindicated, I'm feeling energetic" Emily Good, 28, of Rochester, New York, said of the decision to have the charge dropped. Good had been charged with obstruction of governmental administration when she began videotaping the interrogation of a black man by three white officers in front of her house on May 12, she said.
"Based upon the evidence, we could not make out the elements of the crime charged," Monroe County First Assistant District Attorney Sandra Doorley said.
Good said she intends to file a civil suit.

She got close to the arrest. Judging from the video, it looks like, unless she was using magnification, she got about 5 feet away at one point or two.
As I pointed out, the fact that she was on her property is meningless because the courts recognize that the constitution isn’t so absolute that you have unlimited application or scope of your rights.
In other words, you can be arrested on your property if you do not comply with an officer’s orders, even if you’re not committing an actual crime.
Yes she did.
She initially did not move. When she did, she moved only slightly, still on the sidewalk. She didn’t move back onto her property, and, again, only slightly until after the officer had turned his light upon her. WATCH THE DAMNED VIDEO and quit lying about what took place. Why in hell are you defending this scum who was obviously only out to cause trouble with officers enacting a lawful traffic stop?
Incredible the level of stupidty that is on display by these clowns who, for some unknown reason, want to support the scum who was out looking for notoriety by trying to catch officers doing something untoward against a minority.
You can be jailed for no crime? Sorry, not in America, not legally.
Ever heard of a Miranda Warning? You MUST be told what crime you are being charged with.
You are in SERIOUS need of remedial education. Wow. I can’t believe you really said that. Astounding.
There was a country that comes to mind, though, where you DID have to do everything the officer said though, or get shot or imprisoned...let’s see...it was quite a few decades ago and I think it starts with a “G”.
I’m not going to claim they are trying to cast the police in a negative light, but I do think they have no appreciation just how fast and deep things can go fast for officers making an arrest.
Unless the officers are beating a subdued suspect to death, it’s always better to let the arrest happen and take appropriate actions after, if somebody was unlawfully arrested.

Yeah, because cops never harass citizens, especially citizens, who are videotaping them. Cops never abuse their authority, so why should they be subject to observation, by the people who pay their salaries?
VIDEOS:
If everyone wants to see how TRULY stupid it is for SoldierDad to blindly support the cop and call the DA a liar and a coward (yes, that’s what he said, with no qualifications), watch these videos:

The woman committed no crime. Therefore the cop had no right to arrest her. You can’t legally arrest someone who committed no crime.Period.
End of argument.
That’s called “false arrest.” And false arrest IS a crime.
It is the #1 crime that cops are charged with.
Don’t be surprised when and if this officer is charged with false arrest.
And don’t be surprised if there is action taken against the cops who decided to retaliate against the citizens of the neighborhood.
Stupid is as stupid does, and you’re among the best. You are attempting to connect dots from this incident to dots of others, which are not being discussed here. You want, for some unknown reason, to tie any and all police incidents caught on video to all other incidents, regardless of the situation and outcome. You obviously are unable to take these cases individually. That tells me all I need to know about you and your liberal mindset. I’m through trying to reach the unreachable. Take a hike, moron.
>>WATCH THE DAMNED VIDEO and quit lying about what took place. <<
Whoa there, calm down there. Lighten up, Frances. lol
Don’t get your panties in a twist.
No, my description is accurate. She was on her own lawn (not the sidewalk) when arrested.
You ARE a real piece of work. lol
btw - in the initial incident - the “black guy” was released, perhaps even without a ticket.
Actually they can, in America. But if they keep you for more than 24 hours, they have to charge you with something.
But you can be arrested, if the officer sees probable cause, but not be charged.
No, you are a liar. The video proves it. This is my parting shot.
You’re right. How can I argue with the brilliant mind who made the kneejerk pronouncement that the DA is a liar and a coward?
I mean, the fair mindedness you display is obvious for all to see. You just want to get to the truth, you’re not taking a side. lol
Thanks for your impartiality. ;-)
No. The officer can arrest you for being a pain in the behind or being belligerent, being a danger to oneself, and other reasons, like being an interference when the officer is trying to make a lawful arrest.
It’s only a false arrest if their was no probable cause to have made an arrest.
Probable cause of a CRIME.
There was no crime. He had to have a crime in mind to charge her with.
What crime did she commit?
NONE.
It would seem so, but he is entitled to his opinion.
>>No, you are a liar. The video proves it. This is my parting shot.
<<
HAHA, that’s your parting shot? Pathetic.
So long, screwy.
>>Based on the totality of the responses from these clowns, I am willing to make the claim that they are indeed trying to cast ALL police in a negative light. <<
That would be another kneejerk response on your part, like saying that the DA is a liar and a coward.
No, I don’t paint all cops in a bad light. Only the ones who do wrong.
If you can defend the wrongdoing by the police on the site I linked to, please do. Tell us which abuses are acceptable to you.
