A broad area of low pressure over the Bay of Campeche associated with a tropical wave is producing disorganized cloudiness and showers. Upper-level winds are currently not conducive for development, however these winds are forecast to become more favorable over the next couple of days.

I’m appreciative of NOAA, particularly with the excellent heads-up the Severe Storms center in Norman is able to give us in the heartland during tornado season.
Forecasting has come a long way, but predicting Mother Nature will always be somewhat of a guessing game, because the old gal can change her mind at any time. Tropical systems, in particular, behave like adolescents, demanding to do things their own way.
Take a look at the loosely (un)organized system off SW Florida. No mention yet, but it’s been cookin’ up pretty good.

I lurk on the Gulf Coast Weather forum at http://www.gulfcoastwx.com/ipb/. Lots of well-informed folks there, including meteorologists. I’ve learned a lot just reading their posts and learning to understand the models.
We NEED several mild tropical systems to move over Texas. Soon.
Might help a little with the blazing desert heat from Mexico from the strong winds these last months! Otherwise West Texas is moving eastward.
