An elderly woman in the late-stages of leukemia was forced to undergo 45 minutes of additional screenings last Saturday when she tried to board a flight out of Northwest Florida Regional Airport, her daughter told FoxNews.com
Lena Reppert, 95, was to say her final goodbyes to her daughter before she made what would most likely be her last flight to her native Michigan. After eight years of battling leukemia, doctors say she doesnt have much time to live.
She said she wanted to be closer to her grave, Jean Weber, her daughter, told FoxNews.com. I knew it would probably be the last time I ever see her.
But when Reppert made it to the check-in line, Transportation Security Association agents singled her out because she was in a wheelchair. Wheelchairs require other security measures to be employed since they dont go through metal detectors.
So they brought my mom to the side, and two agents just started patting her, Reppert said. Eventually they found something that appeared to be hard and they said could be a concealed weapon.
She said two female agents wheeled her mom into a private room where they performed a more thorough inspection, and found that Reppert was wearing a Depend adult diaper.

Conservatives in Congress? Where are you?
IOW, the little nazis got called on their behavior and rather than owning up to it, they are calling the woman's daughter a liar.
With all due respect, we’re all dying. Some people are just closer to that date than others.
Looks like there is a downside to this jobs-for-the-otherwise-unemployable program.
Congress could certainly stop this. This should be the defining issue of every person running for office. It represents so much of what’s wrong in this country. If this isn’t stopped it’ll be too late when the jack boots come to our homes and kick the door down because they simply want to.
It’s long past time that a major boycott of air travel was staged. Only 3-5 days and the industry would come crashing down.
“Closer to dying” could be construed as a threat...she’s lucky they didn’t give her a beatdown ,too.
The humiliation continues, and it’s all of a piece with a thousand other instances of “We want to show Muslims in burkas that we don’t think they’re guilty, so we have to pretend we think you COULD be guilty”.”The policies of this Administration are uniformly shameful, across the board and from top to bottom.
May they rot in hell for all the crap they put us through on a daily basis, and may their , uh, “Liberalism” die by a thousand cuts and stay dead until it can reconstitute itself as a party made up of adults, which will probably be NEVER.

“Eventually they found something that appeared to be hard and they said could be a concealed weapon.
Really??? Are you packing heat or are you just glad to see me?
We have NO voice on this travesty??????
Thank God they don't have TSA agents working the pearly gates, or she'd be in for another pat-down.
TSA reminds me of something the Nazi’s would have done. This is totally unacceptable the TSA should be ended this is getting way out of hand.
Dyin’ granny in a wheelchair’s gonna kill us all!
This why I am against the “patriot” act, homeland security, and other such nonsense. I do not believe these laws weren’t invented to stop only foreign threats as we have lots of laws and agencies for that - this security mess was invented to keep the non-progressives under control.
The mainstream government in washington considers us to be the bad guys. We all believe in the constitution, most of us believe in God. We’re armed, we live free. We threaten the brave new socialist world. Eventually we will be the ones they go after. And they will use Homeland Security and the patriot act to do it. Seriously, America has changed. My feeling is we shouldn’t enable any politician, even our own to clamp down on us like this.
In World War II - when we faced a technologically equal enemy, we didn’t cower under the sink and give up all our freedoms. I am not afraid and I don’t need the ‘protection’ thank you.
It’s unbelievable, now we molest children and old people in wheelchairs - it just makes me sick.
