Michelle Bachtrack just opened the door for Palin with that performance. If she would have answered it honostly she would have soared in the polls and would have had the soundbite of the campaign, now she is going to sink which will make Saracuda more attractive.

Somebody should have told Rollins, pandering politicians are a thing of the past. You can’t let hanging curveballs go by.

Could have simply said, I don’t know if he is unAmerican I can’t read his mind but most of his policies are. Taking over GM, Wall St and closing down Oil, Coal and energy and being at war with our industries. What is patriotic about that? When has he said anything pro American he is always criticizing us and our allies? and she let it go by.

Batter up!

Pray for America

Being from liberal MN, she understands the liberalism of voters and just can’t rock the boat. Much like Nixon in 1968

Some of these interviewers end up hurting the candidate:

Roger Mudd and EMK
Palin and Couric
Now Bachmann and Schieffer

Only Dan Rather and the first Bush apparently helped.

Unfortunately, that is the politician side of her and to be fair all politicians have to fight it. She started seeing her poll numbers rise and then thought she could be elected by attracting Republican Establishment votes by repudiating her earlier beliefs. The problem is by repudiating her earlier beliefs she will lose the voters who helped her poll numbers rise. I see her poll numbers going backward now.

Well, I want someone who isn’t afraid to rock the boat.

This sort of thing could be endlessly parsed. But if Michele Bachmann chickens out of saying she thinks that Barack Obama has principles which inexorably lead him to betray the United States, well how much better is that than Mitt Romney?

We're doomed, if this is the kind of balls our candidates have.

Gads, I think you are on to something there.

To be fair, Palin has also said ‘nice’ things about Obama.

She called him an outright liar.

"The problem for Ms. Bachmann (and for any other Republican candidate this season) is that if you are going to accuse the President of holding "anti-American views", you'd damn well better be able to back it up with examples. Else, the Democrat-loving media will come after you with ferocious (and self-righteous) savagery.

I believe that such examples abound: his company of uniformly radical and even openly-Communist personal associates, his obvious Islamist sympathies, his preference for globalist designs rather than national sovereignty, his denial of domestic energy independence, his favoring of government-run enterprise over private business, etc.

These, and other behaviors and expressions are well-documented. So, why can't Ms. Bachmann calmly articulate them rather than back down?"

Well said. What we want most of all is a candidate with backbone who won't back down and who tells us the truth without obfuscating the issue.
