Chris Wallace told Don Imus Thursday he intended to fully respond to the fallout from last week's interview with Jon Stewart.
True to his word, at the conclusion of the most recent "Fox News Sunday," Wallace struck back at Stewart's claim that Fox watchers are the most misinformed media viewers by demonstrating that folks who watch "Hannity" and "The O'Reilly Factor" were actually better informed than "Daily Show" viewers (video follows with transcript and commentary)
CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: Now, the surprising fallout from our interview last Sunday with Jon Stewart. I figured it would get some reaction, but not that it would light up the internet. One of Jon’s arguments was that the bias of the mainstream media is not to push a liberal agenda.

Fox news bragging that their viewers are more informed than the viewers of a fake news program. Why not measure themselves against members of that hidden tribe that turned up recently in the Amazon rain-forest?
Why try and mainstream the clown, Chris? I’ve seen maybe parts of 2 John Stewart shows in my lifetime. Watching him again would be a waste of my time, watching him on Wallace’s show would be a waste of my time. Commenting on this thread is a waste of my time. OK.

It was in reply to an allegation by Stewart that Fox viewers were the least informed.
I got that. I’m just trying to say that it’s stupid for a “serious” newscaster to debate with a clown. All that will accomplish is to diminish the credibility of the “serious” newscaster, and elevate the clown to the same level.

Yes, and my question is why didn’t Chris Wallace have that info either in front of him or on the top of his head to rebut that kind of predictable comment from Stewart. A.K.A. Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz.

In order to prove his claim of being “Fair and balanced” to Stewart, Wallace was openly hostile to guest Michelle Bachmann, asking her if she was “a flake”.

LOL and for sure. Was amazed that Chris chose to 'sit with Jon for ANY reason - whatsoever. Seemed altogether a capitulation (i.e. "hey; your 'out there' and numb-mush listening to you; can we be friends?") to alternative media.
Pulleeeeeze; will the authentic grown-ups - ONLY - step up to the plate so as to be heard? Opinions 'should' mean something!
I am kinda on the fence on whether or not Chris should sit with Jon Stewart or any of the Libs.

Chris did go on Stewart’s show a while back and Jon had promised to return the favor but it took quite a lot of phone calls and excuses before he finally agreed to.
After Wallace's interview of Michele Bachmann ("Are you a flake?"), many of us are wondering whether "serious newscaster" applies to him.
