My guess - some cities like Detroit are in the one in three range.
The problem is that when the same “old same old dependents” bankrupt the system, they can get jobs ( many work under the table now), but those who are REALLY disabled will just die - or be thrown on the mercy of family - if they have family.
A 90 year old man who counts on Social Security that he spent a lifetime paying into - can’t go out and get a job. Those people - the truly disabled and elderly will be destroyed by the gang bangers, drug addicts, “HIV positive (more like a cold now-a-days)” folks who scam the system...
Drive through a bad neighborhood and you’ll see the signs ‘ WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY RIGHTS... The lawyers take a cut of the winnings - and the winnings are big - free money for 50 to 60 years...
