GOP presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty told CBNs Pat Robertson that his wife Mary led him to the Lord and that his faith played an important role in his life.
She [Mary] led me to the Lord and was a powerful leader and mentor in that journey for me, former Minnesota Governor Pawlenty said in an interview on the 700 Club with Pat Robertson Thursday.
I was raised a Catholic, and Mary and I met she came from a Baptist tradition. So as we were getting married, we got serious about that I wanted to reconcile our faith lives and she did too. So I started attending her church, Pawlenty said.
Mary is a member of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minn., part of the Minnesota Baptist Conference. She really was instrumental in transforming my faith life and she still does to this day, he added.
Standing for president means a terrible burden on the family; is your wife with you on this, asked Robertson. Pawlenty agreed, I have two teenage daughters [But] she (Mary) strongly believes that its important for the country.
Pawlenty said Mary, whom he met in law school, was a tremendous voice for the Lord and had a wonderful heart.
The former Minnesota governor also spoke about her mothers contribution to his life.

Not sure he does himself any favors by implying that the two are mutually exclusive.
Not to me and my family he doesn’t. No thanks Tim...I think I’ll pass.
Polling weakness among evangelicals, I take it.
Oh boy...it’s time to pull the “I was led to the Lord”, “I pray” etc. routine now that numbers are not adding up. If conservatives and christians are so irrelevant, and our voices don’t mean a thing, why bother at all with the charade?
Don’t you love people who say, “My faith plays an important role in my life”?
I like people who say, “My faith is my life.”
Thanks for posting:)
I didn’t think any human could lead anybody to the Lord? I always thought it was only the Holy Spirit that could lead you to the Lord,(no matter what denomination or philosphy of christianity,)..
Bad move, Tim.
Yes, foolish move ...
Thanbks for sharing, but youre too chicken#hit to go after Willard when he’s standing next to you on stage? Take a hike Paw-Paw
Yeah, that’s the nail in the coffin for me.
I’m not a Pawlenty supporter but I don’t fault the man for getting closer to God, no matter the path that brought him there.
Pass.
True, CONSERVATIVE LEADERS find their own way and LEAD from the front.
Just say NO to ANY and ALL RINOS, INCLUDING stone cold WIMPS like "T-Paw".
No more spouse-following, reach-across the aisle, turn-the-other-cheek-to-our-domestic-enemies, goofball, so-called "conservatives" either (G.W. Newt, etc.) WIMPS either.
We need someone with Conservative, Constitutional CONVICTION and the BALLS to tell it like it is and TAKE IT TO THE ENEMY (foreign AND DOMESTIC), you know, like Sarah P. or Michelle B.
