I think it was another missed opportunity, but not altogether unexpected. Her vote on ethanol subsidies and her unwillingness to shut down the government during the CRA should give people pause. But it won't.
I am not convinced that Mrs. Bachmann is a small government conservative, but rather a targeted government Republican.
Yep, people here will tell me I'm FOS, but you know what? it won't be the first time and it certainly won't be the last time.
I may need some enlightening here. Is the CRA the Continuing Resolution...? My recollection is that she pushed for people, especially newly elected TEA Party people to vote against it and that she herself definitely voted against it.
I remember being extremely angry that my own TEA Party guy (even endorsed by Sarah Palin) got rolled by the "leadership" and voted for it. Our local TEA Party sent out an email pointing it out and asking if we elected him to go along to get along.
I'm pretty sure the debt ceiling thingie is going to end some political careers for people who allow it without AT LEAST equal cuts right now. HE WHO GETS ROLLED ON THIS ONE GETS PRIMARIED!
That includes the "big boys" who think they're too powerful to be cast out--kinda like Tom Foley in '94 and the always concerned and saddened Tom Daschle in '04. Yeah, I know they weren't primaried, but they sure were GONE and they sure were surprised.
