I agree with #23 above. Obama and his Democrats want more taxes, no cuts other than cuts that can be sold as done by mean, heartless Republicans and a big raise in the debt ceiling to push the issue past November 2012. That reelects Obama and maybe gets them back the House as well as the Senate.
The Republicans shouldn’t play the game on Democrat home turf. Instead, Republicans must refuse to raise the debt ceiling now or at any later time and say Obama & Co. got the US to this point and the problem is the Democrats job to fix. If your Congressman and Senators are Republicans, call the and say “No to any debt ceiling increase.”
Yeah! Republicans would never have done this. Why, no Republican controlled Congress would ever propose deficit spending. And no Republican President would ever sign on to deficit spending. A Republican President would veto any attempt at deficit spending.

Oh yeah. Never mind.

The two party system we have got us in this hole. I doubt either party, left to their own "leadership" will pull us out.
The TEA Party needs to keep pushing on principles and holding all of our Congress critters and Senators feet to the fire. If the Republican party caves on this, then every incumbent should be replaced. Repeat as necessary until we get the correct, principled, constitutionally sound outcome.
