We have learned of a follow-up surgery to repair her skull and that she was recently released from a rehabilitation hospital... ...Being a member of Congress, however, is also a job. More than that, it is a job that lies at the heart of our democracy. Although we all wish Giffords a swift and full recovery, we also wish the nearly 650,000 residents of her district to be represented in Congress. While her staff may still be in place, being assisted no doubt by other members of Congress, the staff cannot vote.
...Should the media and the public be so reluctant to demand more information? The Arizona Democrat is not just a private citizen; she is a sitting member of Congress. Do Giffords' responsibilities demand a more searching inquiry into her health? No one is asking this question because it seems moot...

Even from the limited information that has been made available, we know that for the near term Giffords cannot carry out her committee assignments, debate on the floor of the House, and, most importantly cast a vote. The result is that for all intents and purposes, the gunman's bullet that so severely injured Giffords also silenced the people of Arizona's 8th Congressional District. Isn't the obvious solution for her to resign and allow Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to call a special election to fill her seat?...

IIRC the senator from South Dakota had brain surgery and they didn’t ask him to resign his seat. I think he was out for a year or so.
Jesse Kelly came very close to unseating her. Be mindful that it is not only Tucson in that district, it also includes Cochise County in which Ft. Huachuca is located. Cochise County is also a virtual ground zero for the illegal alien crossings. At one point Kelley was leading in the polls and she adopted a very conservative list of promises for a Democrat which was the only reason she was re-elected, in addition to some very questionable vote counts in Tucson and Green Valley.
Dems are salivating at having Gifford’s hubby run for the seat, and maybe for the US Senate even though he is a Texas resident. It may work, look at Hillary. She could have run in Illinois or Arkansas, but New York was “lucky” to have her choose their state.

Your attempt at constructing a creative post was pitiful. I mean, really, stringing together a bunch of insults among a load of babbling was hardly effective... Maybe later in life, after you have learned to read, write, spell, and count, you will have more success. True, these are rudimentary skills that many of us "normal" people take for granted that everyone has an easy time of mastering. But we sometimes forget that there are "challenged" persons in this world who find these things more difficult.
If I had known, that this was your case then I would have never read your post. It just wouldn't have been "right". Sort of like parking in a handicap space. I wish you the best of luck in the emotional, and social struggles that seem to be placing such a demand on you.

It is sad and tragic what happened to her. However, just because her freaky staff want job security that doesn’t mean she can perform any of her duties. The staff are afraid they will be our on the streets with the rest of nobama’s economic victims.
It's obvious that she cannot comprehend or communicate enought to even minimally understand the bills, issues, or what she's voting on. Any vote would be cast for her and that won't fly, it's illegal. So the Rats are stuck with one vote always uncast. They want it back.
For pity’s sake, do people realize that she barely comprehends what happened to herself, much less all of the others who were killed or wounded along with her? We all have dealt with this from the start, but her cognition has only recently returned for her to begin to deal with the magnitude of this atrocity.

I think it is un-necessary to call for her to resign her seat, and if the people of her district are comfortable with her leave of absence for medical treatment, then what gives anyone outside of her district the right or responsibility to call for her resignation? If you’re not in her Congressional District, then this entire argument is moot and this is none of your business.
Congresswoman Giffords was just elected to another 2 year term in Congress, and I’m fairly certain that at some near future date she may well make a decision about whether she is up to running for office again, or not. I think the decision should be left up to her, to be made in her own good time.
It was horrible enough that some mindless madman shot her, without some mindless media madmouth to add to the atrocity with a nasty little hit piece like this one.
