That's exactly the same logic used when "fairness" is used as an excuse for stealing money and property from generations that haven't yet been born.

I can recall Biden saying it a dozen times.It’s a handy little image by way of a talking point they give the dumbed-down masses so they can repeat it. Digging your way out of a hole has more in common with the image of taking water out of the deep end of the pool and putting it into the shallow end. It winds up in the same place instantly, but while you’re doing it at least it looks like you’re doing something.
