Lambro is part of that Inside-the-Beltway Establishment that just can’t accept the fact that the people - just plane simple people as typified by the Tea Party Movement - are taking power away from these insiders who for decades have determined the agenda and picked the players.

To them, Romney is the great white hope to keep the banner of the Establishment flying high. They will be at the table in a Romney administration, and will see all their favorite programs and privileges continue - state dinners, special interviews, talk show gigs, amnesty for their domestic help, tax breaks, the whole benefits package.

To them, the thought that the country might actually be governed by the great unwashed multitudes outside their gated communities is unacceptable.

So it’s rally ‘round Romney, and keep the status quo.
