I am glad I asked because it reveals that the prosecutor is Fitzgerald who, despite his obvious missteps of the Scooter Libby case, nevertheless regards himself as a straight shooter. By that I mean that he is unlikely to see himself as part of team Obama or part of the Chicago political culture and therefore more likely to be conducting a political investigation.
I believe that Fitzgerald believes that he conducted a nonpolitical investigation and prosecution in the Scooter Libby case. I think he was wrong in his exercise of prosecutorial discretion to prosecute Scooter Libby but I, of course, am not privy to his files.
