They don't just call us "mitnachalim (inheritors)"; it's a title of honor concerning those that work to inherit the birth-right of our forefathers.

But the job is not done. "Very much land remains to inherit!" and to our distress, the government prevents the continuing expansion in Judah and Samaria and even tries to uproot that which was planted.

Raising the flag of love of the Land of Israel and expanding beyond the boundaries of existing communities - Mitzpeh Avihai was established (on Hill 18, in the northern corner of Remat Mamre) dedicated to the memory of Avihai Levi (May G-d Avenge his Blood, resident of Beit Hagai who was murdered Friday, Parshat Shlach Lecha, 5765 [around this time of year, 2005) In Mitzpeh Avihai four families and singles live, and in a place of stability with a pond. Additional families want and take steps to join to this important and vital undertaking.

But insteand, the skittishness of the government brings it to forcibly prevent this expansion, like in other places throughout Judah and Samariah. It desires to discourage us from new efforts at inheriting, as well as older ones, using the pretext that they are "illegal" while its actions -- to prevent the return of the people of Israel to its inheritance -- are fundamentally illegal. This week an order of demolition was promulgated against Mitzpeh Avihai as well as in the newly sprouting Havot Federman. With G-d's help, if there is strong resistance on the part of the residents of Kiryat Arba and its environs in the upcoming weeks, and in general in the abovementioned places, an unequivacle message will be conveyeedd to those who receive resolutions, that we do not surrender even one portion of the Land of Israel, and will continue to develop and expand.

There is a real worry about demolition in the upcoming days. Stepping forward at a moment of truth is more important. To help, send an SMS with the message "Mitzpeh Avihai" to 011-972- (0)52-6853813.

People of Israel Stand and Live! We are prepared to build regardless! 40,000 NIS are needed to erect structures. You, too, can be a partner to strengthen our hold in the land of our lives!

(Lots of local phone numbers for making donations; but they told me to call the above number)

With G-d's help we will merity that the donations will be used to build additional houses to those already erected. For additional details and assistance, call Zivah at 011-972-(0)52-3003968.

Translated from the Hebrew just now by yours truly. I was recently at Mitzpeh Avihai, and saw that the minuscule barbed wire fence that had previously separated it from the heavily Arab North Hebron had been taken down, and two teenage Arab boys were bicycling past me on the Arab road running parallel to the footpath, and one was trailing a big Palestinian flag behind the bicycle that the other was peddling and steering. The threat to them is real and always present, and made worse by the government's attitude. These are stand-up people who live on that hill, with the courage and fortitude to stand alone in a hostile world. But there is no reason that they should. They are admired and respected here in the Kiryat Arba area, and people give them whatever help they can. But you out there in Internet Land are able to do more. Donate your dollars while they're still worth 3.45 NIS each on good days:-) It's an investment that will pay big dividends, at least in one sense.
