To the Naysayers on this thread:
I believe that any family that takes in at-risk kids in emergency situations should be able to claim foster parenting them on their resume. For crying out loud folks....give credit where credit is due.
She didn't say that or even imply that.
Next are you going to sneer that she "claimed to have give birth to quints"?
Logic is your friend.
Note to Michele, you might want to stress something else as your qualifications to be President of the United States other than you are a good parent.
Note to you: She has stressed a number of her qualifications I guess you haven't been listening.
ping
Bump.
I'm no expert but do know, some are for very short term stays, because the parent is in jail, treatment etc, others are long term because the child is older and less adoptable, or there may be several kids who suddenly lost their parents and don't want split up. Or any combo the mind can think of. Some even end being adopted by the couple.
Lot of court cases going on in many of the cases where the child was abused by the parent and are in foster care on a temp basis
Our former pastor and his wife were part of the foster care program, they had children of various ages for various periods of time for various reasons. They eventually adopted 1 they had raised since he was 7, and now that they are back in their home state are fostering 3 more.
I have my issues with Bachmann over her plan (which she had to withdraw when the Vet groups got wind of it) for our Veteran's care/disability.
But this one is plain BS.
