This year, 10 are already on the ballot. Much of that is because of an unprecedented outbreak of recalls in Wisconsin, where the newly elected Republican governor's proposal to limit the power of unions led to recalls against six Republican state senators who voted for the bill, and three Democrats who left the state to try to stop its passage.

In Arizona, Pearce has long stirred strong reactions for his tough stance on illegal immigration. Admirers call him a principled patriot for sponsoring popular laws like SB 1070, which pushes police to do more to stem illegal immigration and is being challenged in court by the Obama administration. Critics contend Pearce appeals to racism.
Pearce was reelected in November with 57% of the vote and became president of the state Senate. Three weeks after the legislative session started, activists began circulating recall petitions.....
"It's an effort to use the recall system to silence individuals who are trying to protect the United States," said Matt Tolman, who heads the committee backing Pearce. "Anytime they disagree with you, boom! They run a recall on you."
Randy Parraz, a veteran activist who helped lead the recall effort, said the campaign used some paid signature gatherers but consisted largely of grass-roots volunteers.
"They look at the damage that he has done to our image, our brand, job creation," Parraz said. "The recall is there for a reason."

They face a high hurdle here in Michigan since we elected a secretary of state with no tolerance for fraud. Fake names and the dead won’t be voting in any of the recall elections.

John McCain is in more hot water after appearing to concede he could lose the US presidential election by telling voters they have nothing to fear with Barack Obama in the White House.
The extraordinary gaffe comes just three weeks before Election Day with the Republican candidate trailing badly in the polls.
Now Republican aides fear he may have further damaged his chances by accepting the possibility that he could be defeated.

Mr. McCain made his remark while appealing for calm on the campaign trail amid fears that angry outbursts from supporters were raging out of control.
After a particularly fired-up rally in Minnesota, Mr McCain was booed when he tried to soothe the crowd, defending Mr. Obama as “a decent person and a person you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States.”

What a joke of a candidate he was.
I live in Maryland and by the time the Primary’s came to my state ,it was all over. Republicans don’t have much reason to go to the olls in Maryland anyway, and the late primary means the candidates are already picked over before we even get a chance to vote.
All Primary’s should be on the same day. Voters should have the chance to do the picking. not some half-assed yankee state like New Hampshire where they let Democrats cross over and vote for our candidates.Essentially picking a Candidate and giving him/her a head start.
My personal view is that this is not necessarily a good thing.
Takes us even further down the road away from Representative Republic status and towards a mob-rule democracy. Socialist Lefties are literally drooling for the day when every major issue can be put to an instant plebiscite via Twitter.
The recall needs to be reserved for creeps like Anthony Weiner who commit some major offense while in office when their party circles the wagons instead of doing the right thing.

The unions LIKE centralized government (the Feds) and as Newt says, the move away from our local government is killing us. So as states like Wis and Fl and Ga and Tx, etc. have started asserting themselves, the recall (along with the courts) will become the club used by the Left.
Too late Newt and you are part of the problem. You folded up and left the only position you had that could of changed the course of events. Sorry but your input is to be ignored.
Newt is an idea man.
