Great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Little people talk about other people
That would sure eliminate much of what we want to know about history and the people in it.
Actually, the quote is minds instead of people, but enough nitpicking. There’s definitely some truth in that quote but I’ve never liked it because it was said by Eleanor Roosevelt and it’s almost impossible to talk about ideas without talking about things and people. To discuss the evils of communism, one almost has to talk about Marx, Stalin, and gulags.
