GOP magic trick:Making George W. Bush vanish
Politico ^ | June 20th, 2011 | Johnathan Martin

Posted on 06/20/2011 6:02:23 PM PDT by KantianBurke

NEW ORLEANS — Republicans head into 2012 united in their disdain for an unpopular, Big Government-loving, internationalist president.

The name of that president: George W. Bush.

From Capitol Hill to the statehouses to the presidential primary, Republicans are turning their back on almost every important accomplishment of the Bush administration.

“Vindication. What say you now Bush bots?”

It’s only vindication if a Bushalike isn’t actually nominated by the GOP as its candidate in 2012, KB. And that doesn’t seem to be likely right now. First, the ‘bots fake their nominee through the primary process (”Not conservative? But he says he’s against illegal immigration and tax hikes and Ay-rabs—as far as you know—so how do you KNOW he’s not conservative?”). Then, the ‘bots figure out the right “issue” to take out the current White House resident (you know, weighty stuff like “Obama’s for flag burning,” “Obama looks funny in a tank,” “Obama’s got a silly name”). Before you know it, Bush III will be sitting in the Oval Office, just itchin’ to sell us out to Dubai, the Saudis and the U.S.’s other globocrat “superfriends.” Hell, Romney, Pawlenty, Perry and Huntsman have probably already asked if Daddy Bush would consider an adult adoption.

Looks like Politico is trying to raise up Bush for the elections.

Still blaming others for the failings of your prince? He inflicted severe damage on the conservative movement. One day you’ll remove the blinders and accept that. Till then, the rest of us will rejoice at the complete denunciation of his policies.

Still blaming others for the failings of your prince?

Still siding with any old leftist who bashes a man of morality, integrity and strength?

Your alliances are duly noted, Mr. Burke.

We’ve been putting ice on it since Duhbya’s legacy took occupancy of the WH Jan 2009.

Do rational thinking people actually believe that the next election will be against GWB?

He has been gone for 4 years.

Now that will be some kind of magic trick - to assume there has been no-one named 0bama f’ng the country up for the last 4 years.

After the storm trooper put the machine gun in Elian's face, conservatives were outraged. Your "man of morality, integrity and strength" declared the issue "a loser" and dared not speak of it. I knew right then he was a nightmare.

Where was the morality when he was promising amnesty to illegals? Where were the values when he gave grandma free pills to be paid for by future generations? What integrity are you speaking of when one’s attention is focused on the billions of taxpayer dollars that were squandered on AIDS in Africa?

He is not a knight in shining armor. More importantly, the course the GOP has taken in 2010 and now in 2012 conclusively show that his policies were failures and those of us said so at the time were justified for our opposition. If folks like you had not enabled Bush's nonsense yesterday, we wouldn't be in such dire straights today.

“And PRESTO!! Much to the delight of the liberals, they bring him back with the nomination of Rick Perry!! EXCELLENT JOB GOP!!”

Shhhh, the liberals and RINOs hate Rick Perry and Sarah Palin. Just ask the MSM, which has plastered even the mere possibility that they would run on every front page and replayed every speech of theirs that sounds remotely strident about conservative issues. They can’t stand those right-wing-extremist weirdos, you see!

Of course, if they totally loved and WANTED a politican to run, they’d completely ignore him, like they’ve done to that middle of the road moderate Jim DeMint guy. There’s the guy they want to see in the White House!

“If you look at it purely from a political standpoint, Republicans in Texas and throughout the nation are going to get their clocks cleaned eventually if they don’t reach an agreement on immigration,” said former White House Communications Director Dan Bartlett.

That problem started with a certain GHWB who deliberately refused to enforce immigration laws and the border starting in 1989 after the amnesty of 1986, which was to be followed by strict enforcement. Then we had eight years of Clinton and eight years of W, who both continued the pandering, non-enforcement policies.

Nothing points out dangers of Texas and border state politicians more than the two Bush presidencies and the policies advocated by others such as McCain and Kyl and Rick Perry.

The border states basically transferred their problems to the entire nation through their politicians failings.

Bush is a good man, much better than Gore, much better than Kerry - but not much of a conservative either.

While I have a lot of criticisms of Bush, history may be kinder to him than many think. His leadership and steady hand after 9-11 will not be forgotten. Also, Iraq turned into an excellent terrorist killing ground at a time a lot of jihadi’s wanted to find some place to fight America, and the nation building I freely admit to having opposed might turn out better than a lot of people (including myself) expected.

Bush’s biggest flaw, aside from not being a reliable conservative on all too many issues, was his inability to communicate effectively and move public opinion.

Don’t forget he left Linda Tripp, Scooter Libby, Ramos and Compean in the lurch for quite some time.

I disagree with his immigration policy, but do not believe it was 'immoral.' The Medicare plan was privatized, was it not? Saving millions of lives is 'squandering?'

There is a very big difference between disagreeing with a President on certain issues and hating him with a deep passion as you obviously still do.

And right now there are important things we need to be doing to save this great Republic from evil Marxists. Hating a man of morality and integrity won't get the job done.....nor will posting leftist Bush-hating articles on a conservative forum.

Yessiree by golly, you’ve been vindimacated.

It’s sure is a shame we didn’t have Gore or Kerry, heck, we could have even lucked out and had John Edwards, maybe even Screamer Dean.

We be so much better now that we got us our Obama...... You watch, I be vindimacated someday too.
