Bachmann’s newly installed political team has had its own battles with message discipline — typified by campaign manager Ed Rollins’ recent comments alleging that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin hasn’t been “serious” over the last few years.
After the incident, Bachmann was “very firm” with Rollins, according to an adviser to the congresswoman, telling him this should not happen again and that there should be “no more press”. Bachmann also demanded that Rollins call the Palin people and apologize. “She is definitely not tone deaf,” the source added.
Bachmann’s move to limit her exposure in the wake of her debate performance is a smart strategy designed to avoid accidentally trampling on the momentum she built with that performance.

Such is Palin’s conservative cachet among the base, I think, that not even Michele Bachmann would feel completely safe from charges of RINO-ism if she had let Rollins’s attack slide. Already I’ve seen her dismissed by a few people in the comments here and elsewhere as some sort of stalking horse for Romney whose mission is to clear his way to the nomination by siphoning off votes from Pawlenty and Palin

Exactly. I like Palin, and I liked Bachmann. She really blew it by sniping at a good conservative. She needs to get rid of an albatross like Rollins.
Being a backer of Carter/Mondale seemed stupid,but a long time ago, however it is all starting to make sense.
If MB does not go along with ER and his outdated and savage campaign strategy,she may find herself on the end of his nasty diatribes.

The questions of Bachmann began when she hired CNN political analyst Ed Rollins, a guy who has been earning a paycheck for personally insulting Palin for at least the past year I remember.
Unless a leopard does indeed change it's spots, Rollins will make other questionable statements soon.
As another example you're wrong, I don't see Palin supporters critical of Herman Cain.
With all the political talent out there, why Bachmann hired this guy remains an unanswered mystery to me, though I have my suspicions.

What was she thinking by choosing him in the first place?
Why did not Palin order her people to appoligize publically for slaming Michelle as having “no executive experience” which kicked off the whole mess? Why are Palin’s people still making a big deal of it after Michelle handled it privately with Palin? The spirit of Maverick McBackstabber comes to mind.

Amen! Isn’t this election about getting a conservative elected? I’ve always been a huge Palin fan, but the 11th Commandment is being warped by some into: “Thou shall not say anything bad about SP lest ye suffer the brand of RINO.” Rollins’s job is to get MB the nomination, not worry about SP. Until she says she out of the race, SP is a potential roadblock to MB. So big deal.
As far as the comment itself, some of SP’s image problem is self-inflicted. While she did have legitmate reasons for resigning as governor, you can’t be surprised that some people don’t take her seriously after she made a reality tv show on the same channel as the Duggars, Sister wives, and other assorted human oddities.

I'm not bashing Bachmann for hiring Rollins. I am paying attention to how she responds to this. Bachmann must make it very clear to Rollins that the news needs to be about Bachmann, not about Rollins.
