Bachmann’s newly installed political team has had its own battles with message discipline — typified by campaign manager Ed Rollins’ recent comments alleging that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin hasn’t been “serious” over the last few years.
After the incident, Bachmann was “very firm” with Rollins, according to an adviser to the congresswoman, telling him this should not happen again and that there should be “no more press”. Bachmann also demanded that Rollins call the Palin people and apologize. “She is definitely not tone deaf,” the source added.
Bachmann’s move to limit her exposure in the wake of her debate performance is a smart strategy designed to avoid accidentally trampling on the momentum she built with that performance.

Such is Palin’s conservative cachet among the base, I think, that not even Michele Bachmann would feel completely safe from charges of RINO-ism if she had let Rollins’s attack slide. Already I’ve seen her dismissed by a few people in the comments here and elsewhere as some sort of stalking horse for Romney whose mission is to clear his way to the nomination by siphoning off votes from Pawlenty and Palin

Hey Bachmann is a conservative, she is a candidate, and I hope she is fighting to win.
I don’t care if you like her. That is your business.
But...I will vote for her or Cain because they are candidates and they are conservatives.
This is not a race for our favorite FOX News contributor.

If she’s not a candidate then why should Rollins make such a statement anyway? And why wouldn’t Bachmann immediately come out and disavow it and have Rollins apologize? Especially since she WILL want Palin to campaign for her if she doesn’t run. By the way, Bachmann has been asked directly about her relationship with Palin AFTER this comment which would have been a perfect opportunity to say such a statement should not have been made.
I’m thin skinned? You’re trying to defend a position with insults rather than explanations. Again, what exactly was catty about her answering a direct question about the difference between her and Bachmann? What the heck was she supposed to say? “Oh there’s just no difference? She’s just perfect and as pure as the driven snow!”
Again, (I’ll put this at the end here so you won’t forget it) WHY is answering a direct question put to her catty?

Sarah Palin hired longtime political strategist Michael Glassner as chief of staff of her political action committee. He has a stellar reputation.
I’ve tweeted TeamBachman that I will not be donating anything to her until Ed Rollins is history.

Thinking that she was qualified to run was the bigger mistake; she’s just being used to damage a real candidate.

Just like they framed up a fake Bachmann candidacy. She is their creation, and nothing but a marionette for the elitists to play with.
I was asking who the campaign manager is. Glassner is not a campaign manager. Glassner is the guy who worked for Dole and John McCain.
You see, these people get around.

I haven’t reached the same stern conclusions you have (she’s like Huckabee, you no longer support her) but I do agree with your description of events:
She hired him, she didn’t fire him, she tried to hide from the controversy until hiding became impossible.
I still support her, in the sense that she’s #3 on my short list, but this whole thing does shake my faith in her leadership ability.
If you can’t run a campaign...
There were no conservatives at the RightOnline conference.
They were all just like you.
