The founders were already talking about military interventionism in the name of democracy, and I believe Adams concluded that it was a very bad idea. So, too, in Libya. Afghanistan was about taking out Al Qaeda and the Taliban. So why hasn’t it been done yet? The most successful intervention was in Iraq, which remains relatively calm and stable in spite of all these springs sproinging all over the region.
