I believe it. I worked in a steel mill out in East Chicago back in the 50s, one summer. Youngstown Sheet & Tube. They had great Polish sausage, as they called it, that you could buy for lunch.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t make more money too. I have read that computer software engineering companies, like IBM and others seek graduates from Poland for this specialty area. The Polish engineers are supposedly the best in the world.
