Two dead, two others tortured on day when at least three church buildings are attacked.

...

The Islamic militias were heard shouting 'Allahu-akbar' (God is greater) as they began shooting at a Roman Catholic Church building

...

There are unconfirmed estimates of more than 53,000 people displaced due to the fighting in Southern Kordofan between the northern army known as the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) of Southern Sudan, according to the UN humanitarian wing.

Until the US does something about Muslims killing American Christians (and anybody else - including other Muslims) here, there is no reason for Americans to care about this story. It really doesn’t matter.

Not possible, Obama would have NATO go in instantly if peaceful civilians were being killed or harmed in any way. He would demand the militias step down and leave the country. He would freeze their bank accounts. He would never allow blacks to be mistreated.

NO, obviously this is not happening, it's all a lie.

Sad to say, you're probably right.

My wife and I contribute to Voice of the Martyrs, yet so few people are aware of the work this group does in exposing the persecution of Christians around the world.

Check out tonight's threads. The biggest story tonight (redundantly threaded about ten times) is about the death of a pop sax player.

I'll come down off my soapbox now.

I looked up the area...this is what I found http://reliefweb.int/node/403689

Why does anyone think they can assist anyone in that area without being assaulted or killed?

Don’t come off your soap-box; as Quebecois/Irish I understand that we live in a (formerly) Protestant country with secular interests. The E Street Band is what matters to many of the people who live in the here-and-now; I don’t think we’d ever convince them otherwise. We have a responsibility, but I’d assume that’s within reasonable limits. As I read in a book about Spain’s civil war, there was just many people who had nothing to live for and less to die for...

From wikipedia:

Southern Kordofan is one of the 25 wilayat or states of Sudan. It has an area of 158,355 km² (61,141.2 sq mi) and an estimated population of approximately 1,100,000 people (2000).Kaduqli is the capital of the state. It is centered around the Nuba Hills.

In 2011, residents of South Kordofan will hold ill-defined "popular consultations" to determine the constitutional future of the state.

History

South Kurdufan shares the history of North Kurdufan. Although South Kordofan is north of what will soon be the international border with South Sudan, it is home to many pro-south communities, especially in the Nuba Mountains, some of whom fought with southern rebels during the long civil war.[3]

In 2009 and 2010 a series of conflicts between rival nomadic tribes in South Kordofan caused a large number of casualties and displaced thousands.

On June 6, 2011 armed conflict broke out between the forces of Northern and Southern Sudan, ahead of the scheduled independence of the South on July 9. This followed an agreement for both sides to withdraw from Abyei.

I don’t know if Obama is pro Islam, but after the heck he has gotten from Conservatives for intervening in Libya, he will have a good excuse to stay out of this one.

The Libya thing is complicated; GWB said Libya was a good guy, then Obama started his own war against another Musilm country with them (our third simultaneously). It is obvious that the secular US government is at war with Islam (for its own secular reasons, certainly not defense of the family or the like), and they’d never be able to deny it if they went to war with a FOURTH Muslim country.

Based on values alone, there is no reason for us to be fighting these countries (and we are fighting Iraq & Afghanistan, regardless of what the media says - they certainly acted as though W was fighting them). We have a president here who won’t defend the law of the land (Defense of Marriage Act).

We all should have known this isn’t about “the people” the moment Obama demanded Mubarak step down. At that moment we lost all of our long earned allies in the ME, and in return, we’ve gained......nothing.

your posts at 2 and 5 are great, as usual.

and this here, is also depressingly accurate:

“Chezwick_mac
Acknowledging the incompatibility of Islam with human freedom would require us to do something about it...and THAT would require courage.
So instead, we temporize, rationalize, and invent falsehoods such as “religion of peace” and “tiny minority of extremists”.”

Because you would be surprised what a c-130 gunship and a few drones can do.
