Some lib on a radio board mentioned Howie “shilling his tome on MSNBC”. I replied:

Easy to see why HC’s heart feels like an alligator. Good to meet him again (at book signing in
Peabody). I suppose the paperback issue of the book, due in early 2012, will have additional
stuff about Whitey and Catherine, aka “Mr and Mrs Santa Claus”, being captured. Indeed as
the Herald’s Jessica Heslam tweeted, someone said the $800,000 (and weapons cache) found
in Whitey’s apartment “didn’t come from him having a paper route on Santa Monica Blvd.”...

The funny thing was, when I subscribed to the Globe, I spotted Barnicle as a fabulist and “appropriator” just from his content. Were his editors somnambulant dunderheads? The question cannot be readily dismissed. This was, after all, the Globe.
