This happens a lot, and FR “veterans” do it almost as much as newbies, and invariably the complaints come and sometimes the new threads get zotted. Might be nice to have an interface in the “post-an-article” page which would look for other “similar” news article threads within the last week and list them if they exist along with an “are you sure?”

We usually let a duplicate stay up if it’s posted a given period of time after the first. Not everybody catches it the first time around.

Now when you have three identical ones at the same time, and more on the way... that’s a different matter.
