I read in Golf Digest, just a month or two ago, that Obama had about a 20 handicap, which means he roughly shoots in the low 90s. For an "average" golfer that's a decent score, but for someone who plays as much as he does, he should shoot much better. Though I've never seen him play, the photos I've seen of him on the course don't impress me. He looks like he's playing on a putt-putt course.
What's interesting though--to me--is that someone who wasn't at least enjoying the game, he wouldn't be out there so much.
He has an extreme aversion to work and pressure, so he decamps to the golf course every chance he gets. He no doubt enjoys the entourage and all the special arrangements he gets as POTUS-on-the-links, but it’s more than that. He has the uber-antsy personality of an extreme Malignant Narcissist, which means he needs to be on the go a LOT. His official caravan to the golf course, his prerogative of driving the cart, and his escape from the confines of the WH all drive him obsessively to the course.
Remember, he’s never stayed at any one job in the past more than two years. This long ‘bit’ as POTUS is driving him nuts. Golf is one of his outlets—booze and other self-medications being another.
