I wonder why Obama likes to golf so much??? He’s not good at it by all accounts.

You nailed it. It gets him away from ‘don’t smoke/eat bean sprouts’ Michelle, and it also gets him away from the demands of POTUS. He likes the perks but he doesn’t like the pressure, so the links are perfect. Also, he has an extremely addictive/dysfunctional personality, so for him golf is like a video game he just can’t leave alone. Every time he misses a shot, he’s that much more compulsively determined to play another round.
