Yesterday, Allahpundit noted Tim Pawlentys admission on Twitter that he missed an opportunity at Mondays debate. Later in the evening, Pawlenty appeared on Fox with Sean Hannity, who led into the discussion by defending Pawlentys approach in the debate, approving of focusing attacks on Barack Obama rather than other Republicans. Pawlenty disagreed and launched into an attack on Mitt Romney as a co-conspirator of ObamaCare (via The Corner):

Tiny Tim is a wimp. If he's afraid to challenge Myth is forum when very few are watching, he would run in fear of 0bama in a debate. Minnesota Nice is no match for Chicago Thuggery.
To: Lou Budvis
Yes he should’ve but the biggest disappointment was Herman Cain. When he said “Case Closed” his presidential run ended in my mind however he was a big Romney supporter and a big supporter of the bailouts. I wanted to love him Cain but him being black just aint enough for me.

Well - IMHO - romney has that "thousand-yard-stare", made so famous by algore in the 2001 elections. When is opponents are speaking, he get's that $hi+ eatin' grin is almost in their face with that goofy stare.
Like Gore did in 2001, he uses his stature and the stare to try and intimidate and unnerve his opponents. I thought gore was going to sit in W's lap a time or two during their debates.
Like the song says..."You ain't so big...You're just Tall, that's all".

Preserving his option to become Mittens VP.
Pawlenty would at least be an infinite improvement over Obama. Pawlenty takes four days to figure out what he should have done, Obama never does.

He seems to have two notes: Lackluster and Shrill. Not much in between. He’s toast.
Bachmann will be the nominee. All Romney has to do is crack a few more tasteless jokes about being unemployed.

Agreed. Not the same Herman Cain that showed up smoking hot in the first debate.
I was happy they all took on Obama, and they all did a good job at that, but if the #2, 3, or 4 candidate in the polls are not going to take on the #1 who has major issues with conservatives, then why are they even wasting their time?

The worst thing is I want to really like the man and aside from the politics I do. I could live with him and vote for him but he is definently not rising to the cause of becomming President like he should. I’m even beginning to think he is in the race to split the conservative vote.

On one hand, it makes sense to go after the perceived front runner.
On the other hand, a mediocre former governor of a liberal state going after another mediocre former governor of a liberal state makes about as much sense as Mitt going after Obozo on ObaMaoCare.
The logic might even be right but the point is lost on most people.

You are on television with a huge audience, and you flub it? Bye bye, Pawlenty.

Dont worry Tim, as long as you slam him the next time.I actually fault TPaw more for this lame admission now than letting Mitty off the hook in the debate. If it was strategy, 11th commandment, but will do it 'next time', fine. But he now admits he was just too weak. BZZZZZZZZZ. If you're too weak for Mitty in a debate, you're toast against Putin, Ahmadinejad, Hu Jintao .....
To: Maelstorm
Cain since I first heard him reminds me a lot of the old pre-campaign Fred Thompson (when Fred still had the fire in the belly). Fred as much as I liked him, and I was doing cartwheels when he jumped in, really was faded away in the debates. I hate to see Cain go down that same path. Lets see what happens in the next debate. Hopefully he can come back.

All Mitt would have had to do is say he hopes everyone sees the whatever-date video when TPaw said that an individual mandate was a good way to go and may be right for MN. Or something like that. TPaw is very vulnerable on Romneycare, so he only dares bring it up in conversation with the hapless media.
