White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley took heat from business executives Thursday for the Obama administrations regulatory expansions. Daley also said he didnt have any good answers for some of what President Obama is doing and expressed frustration about the bureaucratic stuff thats hard to defend.
Sometimes you cant defend the indefensible, Daley said at a National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) meeting.
Daley couldnt answer basic questions and continually faced criticism from the executives in the room. The business leaders even applauded each others criticism of the administration. At one point, the room erupted in applause when Massachusetts utility executive Doug Starrett, his voice shaking with emotion, accused the administration of blocking construction on one of his facilities to protect fish, saying government throws sand into the gears of progress, wrote Peter Wallsten and Jia Lynn Yang in the Washington Post.
Americans for Limited Government Communications Director and former Labor Department Public Affairs Chief of Staff Rick Manning told The Daily Caller that Daleys inability to defend Obamas regulations is an indication that the administrations plans arent working. Manning also points out that Daleys meeting may have large political implications.
Business community to William Daley, your Jedi tricks dont work on us, Manning said in an email. The chickens are coming home to roost from the wholesale assault by Obama on the free enterprise system and the private job creators who make it run. The meeting itself is incredible in that it demonstrates just how vulnerable Obama feels in 2012.
(As goes the economy, so goes Ohio?)
The Workforce Fairness Institutes Fred Wszolek told The Daily Caller that Daleys lackluster performance is even more questionable when comes to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and its campaign against the Boeing Company. The NLRB has gone after the Boeing Company for opening a new plant in South Carolina. Boeings new plant is an addition to its already-existing production lines in Washington state. The NLRBs case hinges on whether Boeing made the decision to open the new plant as retaliation against machinist unions in Washington, even though no jobs were lost there. In fact, Boeing has added thousands of new jobs in Washington.
As a former Boeing board member before taking on his White House job, Daley voted in favor of opening the new South Carolina plant. Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham has challenged Daley to come out and defend his vote in the face of the NLRBs case, but he hasnt yet done so.
Lemme get this straight - Obama’s own Chief of Staff admitting Obama’s policies are “indefensible”? I’m sure the MSM will be reporting this tonight. Right?
“We told you so”
That's the entire plan, folks.
Well, after Obama screaming and cursing at Mr Daley after Benyamin Netanyahu roasted Obama’s a$$ recently, I can say that I can’t blame Mr Daley for throwing Obama under the bus.
Does seem to confirm what “white house insider” has been saying about Daley and the DNC against Dumb0, Jarrett and the Chicago machine. Looks like Dumb0 is getting thrown under the bus.
My question is, if Dumb0 doesn’t run in ‘12 who does? Nobody wants to get slaughtered.
Why is it up to the chief of staff to defend Obama policy?
Didn’t he have an economic team for that job to explain things? Oh, I see, all (or most) of them quit, except tiny timm. I thought Obama once said tiny tim was uniquely suited for the job.
Not that I like or support that Daley guy .....
Is this the same WH insider who was giving regular reports about upcoming scandals? I haven’t seen those reports recently and wondered if he had crawled back under his rock.
bttt
Worst (p)Resident in US history. No question.
Obama’s chief of Staff going against him?
Holder will resign
Obama will lose re election as the infighting between the dem party split of Daley and Jarrett will not result in a challenger to Obama. The entire democratic party has been exposed as being too far gone ‘progressive’ so even a dem fake moderate cannot save them now.
The chickens are coming home to roost from the wholesale assault by Obama on the free enterprise system and the private job creators who make it run.”
Was Jerimiah Wright in attendance?
The worms are starting to turn.
You won’t see them here because Ulsterman is persona non grata, but yes, he’s still around claiming that the adults in the DNC (what few there might be) have finally realized that Dumb0 is a huge liability to the brand and needs to go.
I do think we’ll be seeing more of this kind of stuff. (Listen to Dumb0 saying he doesn’t have a problem being a one-termer - How do you raise money from people if you can’t even convincingly tell them that you plan on winning or don’t care if you lose?)
The boy king is extremely thin-skinned, particularly in regards to the economy because it's the achilles heal of his reelection bid.
I’m getting a 404 error. Did Darth Obama have it yanked already?
I don’t think Daley is throwing Obama under the bus, but Daley is trying to act as a beard for Obama when it comes to business and reposition him in the center.
At some point some member or members of Obama’s policy team will be chosen as an enemy of the people and blamed for any policy failures. Obama himself will ride forward with Daley posing as a friend of business hoping to fool enough people to squeak by in 2012 and then resume the socialist project.
ping
OUCH. I mean, just ouch.
I just sent this to Ulsterman, the writer who has the “White House Insider” columns. Valarie Jarrett will have a field day with this.
This should prove interesting. It means business is fleeing Obama in droves. Another nail in the coffin.
