Ok someone with a military background help me out.

My buddy joined the Air Force and I was interviewed in person even though my friend was across the country.

It was a background check in person. He is white, never committed a crime, never got a speeding ticket and never smoked a cigarette or done any drugs.

However, a jihadist can join the marines??? No insult to the marines because if it weren't for the marines we'd all be speaking Japanese or be dead, but the leadership needs to get their heads checked.

If this is another case of political correctness gone wild we need Congressional hearings ASAP!!!

Background check depends on security level. The higher up, the more they dig.

A Marine 0311? Probably not going to be privy to nuclear secrets. At most they'd run the criminal background history they do on everyone else and not much beyond that.

Even my basic flight line clearance was only a "if they don't need to know, don't tell them" clearance where you basically just don't tell anyone about ongoing deployments.

Your buddy probably was in a job field where he carried some type of security clearance. Not every job in the military requires that, hence not every job requires that type of anal rectal exam.

That being said, I'm deeply disappointed that some muzzie Islamist has infiltrated my Marine Corps...
