Obama-Supported Libyan Rebels Honor Killing Rape Victims
In all the controversy of Obama's undeclared war against the Libyan regime of Mohamar Gadaffi, a rather striking fact has been lost: the Libyans Obama is supporting are no less barbaric than the ones he is bombing. For proof, just see how the families of women raped by Gadaffi's thugs are murdering them in a spate of Muslim "honor killings" in rebel regions, as the BBC reported...
Libyan women and girls who become pregnant through rape risk being murdered by their own families in so-called "honour killings", according to Libyan aid workers.Gadaffi's rapists often rape women in front of their own fathers or brothers. Those women are the most unfortunate of all. Since those rapes are witnessed, the women are most likely to be murdered by the barbaric Muslim men, who do this not to save the female victims, but to cleanse their own twisted consciences in an act of evil."In Libya when rape occurs, it seems to be a whole village or town which is seen to be dishonoured," says Arafat Jamal of the UN refugee agency, UNHCR
"To be seen naked and violated is worse than death for them," says Hana Elgadi. "This is a region where women will not go out of the house without covering their face with a veil."Worse than death - for WHOM? The female victims, or their misogynist relatives? Perhaps some women often do wish for death, because it would never occur to them that they can recover, get help and therapy, and SURVIVE to teach other women and change the pitiful state of women in Arab and Muslim cultures, where under Sharia Law they are literally treated no better than cattle.
For those who are raped elsewhere, the UNHCR staff is rushing to get abortions for them, to prevent the pregnancy from showing - thus notifying their bothers or fathers that it is fine and dandy to KILL them.
"Time is against us," says Nader Elhamessi from the Libyan aid agency, World for Libya."Killing done with LOVE"? These are the psychopaths Obama is supporting? Yet another example of why the so-called "Arab Spring" is a pathetic joke for women."For the moment pregnancies can be disguised, but not for much longer. Many fathers will kill their own daughters if they find out they have been raped."
"It is killing done with love," says Ms Elgadi. "They believe they are saving the girl."
For women, it is always "Arab Winter".
Ping! Thought you might want to read this in light of our conversation this morning.
It is TRULY IRONIC that the Liberal Left which has so consistently attacked Medieval Christianity with accusations of being insensitive to women and their rights, theocratic, and stifling the minds, intellects and imaginations of millions, has been so eager to protect, defend, and promote such a vicious, evil, anti-female, degrading, theocratic terror cult like Islam.
Truly amazing and hypocritical. But then, that is liberalism of today.
Truly. And actually, I even see it on here, how Islam is “stuck in ___ century” or it’s “positively medieval and barbaric.”
The High Middle Ages produced chivalry—where the man was supposed to sacrifice all to protect and defend the honor of his lady. It produced the troubadours who put women up on pedestals. Take a look at any medieval art collection, what do you see? Enormous tenderness toward the Virgin Mary. And literature...sheesh. Can you imagine an Islamist writing the Paradiso, with Dante being taken on a tour through heaven by the beloved and angelic Beatrice?
There is not and there has never been *any* Christian equivalent for the systematic downgrading of women in Islamic theology.
‘The High Middle Ages produced chivalrywhere the man was supposed to sacrifice all to protect and defend the honor of his lady. It produced the troubadours who put women up on pedestals.”
It produced those in Europe, not in the Middle East. There were a few scholars and artists in the Middle east, they were killed by Islamists.
BTW, your viewing the middle ages through rose colored glasses. There was plenty of barbaric activities in Europe as well.
Lets call the UN to see if we can get them some rights!
Ironic that Joseph stepped up and married Mary to prevent her from being the victim of honor killing
Well, when people say “medieval” they generally mean Europe. And once the Latin Kingdoms were set up in Jerusalem, that culture came to the Middle East as well.
And trust me, I’ve no rose colored glasses. Of course there were barbarities then (although I’d be hard pressed to come up with something as mind-blowingly so as the American abortion industry).
We are talking specifically here about the view of women. Read Dante. Read Petrarch. And tell me that that has any relation to the barbarism we see in Islamist circles.
“Of course there were barbarities then (although Id be hard pressed to come up with something as mind-blowingly so as the American abortion industry).”
They used baby parts as part of medical treatment.
I’m not equating Europeans to Islamists. I just don’t agree the middle ages were anything but a dirty nasty diseased filled period of history. Much of that was caused by war with Islam.
They were due to be married anyway. but yes he could have rejected her.
Saving Islam in the name of Democracy is idiocy. When it comes to Islam, there is always something worse waiting around the corner.
Got a source for the baby parts thing?
Dirty, nasty and diseased filled sounds more like a Python movie than any medieval literature I’ve read. Have you read much from the time period? I’m not trying to be combative here, I’m just wondering where your impression came from.
This was the civilization that invented the Gothic cathedral and the University.
Although some women are victims of that Satanic religion, most Islamic women uphold it and are therefore personally responsible for their plight. “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world” applies. I know most cannot escape the system, but mothers could whisper in their children’s ear, “Go through the motions to survive, but DO NOT believe your Daddy’s murderous religion. Live at peace with people who are different than you”. Of course, that will rarely happen.
Do a quick google on it, there is a long history of using baby parts in medicine.
Baby parts are currently used in some makeup (mostly for age reduction) and in research. For example pepsi is using cells from aborted babies to create artificial taste receptors. By using these cells they can determine if their products have the exact taste they are looking for. In the Ukraine they’ve actually discovered baby mills where the babies are harvested at about 7 months for their parts as testified by doctors who were involved with it. Collagen, stem cells, and the placenta seem to be the most commonly used.
Ring around the rosy is a children’s rhyme with some very sinister connections. Yes some great architecture and art came out of this time. They also jailed people for believing the earth wasn’t the center of the universe.
I’d wager most women are whispering in their childs ear to abide by ‘daddys’ religion.
I will look it up thanks.
And who was jailed for believing the earth wasn’t the center of the Universe? Galileo? That wasn’t even the Middle Ages, and it certainly was not a common occurrence, I doubt you could find one instance of imprisonment for denying geocentrism in the entire Middle Ages.
Galileo 1564 to 1642
Middle ages from the 5th to the 15th century so its pretty close.
It wasn’t a common occurrence to jail people for going against the state approved position?? Have you heard of the inquisition?
But you’re correct, jail records are hard to find for that time period.
In 1440, Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa theorized that the earth was not at the center of the Universe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_of_Cusa#Science
In 1533, Copernicus’s theory was presented in lectures in Rome. Pope Clement VII and several cardinals attended and approved of it. Several bishops then begged Copernicus to publish his theory, and when the book came out it was dedicated to Pope Paul III.
And even Dante, who is always put in the staunch geocentric camp, only believed that the physical world centered on the Earth. He centered the spiritual—and far more important—world on God, as you can see in Dore’s engraving of the Empyrean. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Paradiso_Canto_31.jpg
Did any of these people get in trouble with the Church for their views? No.
The trouble only started happening after the Reformation. On the Protestant side, Luther, Melancthon, and Calvin all opposed the Copernican theory. And on the Catholic side, Copernicus was only finally put on the Index of Forbidden Books in 1621, shortly before Galileo was tried in 1633.
Medieval Christians were actually far more open-minded about the theory than those of the so-called “enlightened” period of the Reformation.
