I buy a brand of milk with no hormones or additives.. If the milk came from a cow, it has hormones in it.

Right now I’m drinking a Darigold “Refuel” chocolate milk which is lactose-free. Good stuff!

Consuming fat doesn't make you "fat". If I consume more calories from fat than I burn, I won't gain weight?

All things considered you will probably excrete most of it.
SUGARS (whether in sugar additives or starch) are your real problem.

I am glad I read this thread —it remided me that I went to Wall’s bakery today and bought a half dozen Boston Creme filled donuts with Chocolate on them, then left them in the car.
I am on a sugar high right now.Enough Sugar there to get a kid high for a week. Damn that was good. Wish I had some Chocolate Milk to wash it down.

Not really a solution if you want them to drink milk.
Even IF the kid has parents that can pack an edible lunch every day, the milk will get warm and disgusting by lunch time. And lugging around a thermal lunchbox from 6th grade onward pretty much ensures attention from bullies looking for any reason to start trouble.
I went to highschool before vending machines here and the only drinkable cold thing on campus was the chocolate milk. Tap water and regular milk was disgusting. Then we learned how to sneak out for lunch...
These bastards probably outlawed it so the vending machines are a kid's only option.

Cows make hormones and they get loose in the milk and do all sorts of things ~ wild things ~ cow things!

25 cents a week is what we paid for our chocolate milk when we were going to school. Is this delight being stripped only from the public schools?
Jamie,go back to England and cure your own countries ailing children. What a schmuck.

Pizza consists of meat and vegetables (onions, peppers, cauliflower, tomatos, etc) spread over a pasta base. The "fat" is in the pasta dough, or sometimes the pepperoni. When you eat pizza you eat mostly carbohydrates ~ unless you do it the way I do. First, we make a gluten free dough. Spread that out thin because I don't get pizza often. Then, spread a package of dried tomatoes over the dough. Pour on some pepper spice. Put some provalone cheese in there too ~ to taste. Then, cover it with vegetables, meatballs, pepperoni, ham, shrimp, pineapple chunks, and finally TWO FULL CANS OF SARDINES SOAKED THOROUGHLY IN OLIVE OIL.
Now that's a pizza. I doubt schools serve that.
Hot dogs are mostly protein, particularly the ones made out of chicken or turkey. Super hamburgers do have a risk ~ the bun ~ too much carbohydrate.
Same with french fries. Entirely too many carbs in there if they've been cooked twice ~ and all the fiber is broken down. Do them at the right temperature and you'll have nearly as much oil at the end as you started with, plus you can use special blends that provide Omega 3. , hot dogs, super hamburgers, french fries,

Oh, I’m sure they’ll ban sack lunches, too, as soon as some whiney kid complains about the twinkie YOU get to eat, while they have to eat their crappy school lunches.
Where’s MY twinkie???

There are days that I would argue that you’re wrong, but I feel good today. ;>)
However, it was in during the 1890’s that my house was built.

Wise not to buy liquid candy for kids.
Dumb to call a failure to buy a “ban.”
And if the kids won’t drink their milk without candy flavoring, then money will be saved.

I admit that cars from the 1950s where nicer, and we did have Marylin, but for all else I stand by my comment. Don't know why. I wasn't around during either time.

I suspect the fat is in the cheese. Not all pizza has meat. Bread has some fat, but Mozzarella is 25% fat by weight. And, BTW, pizza without cheese is "tomato bread" (which is not bad, just not pizza).

Fat, at nine calories per gram, is nothing to worry about but sugar, at four calories per gram, is deleterious to my health? That's not how it works.
If you consume more calories than you burn, regardless of the source of those calories, you will gain weight.

Fat is much more difficult to metabolize. Sugar is easily assimilated into your body.
Best to give up the carbs then you'll be OK.
