Therefore you art inexcusable, O man, whosoever you are that judges: for wherein you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you that judge do the same things. Romans 2:1.
People who throw that verse around more often than not use it to judge others by condemning others for making logical conclusions based on the behavior of others. Usually the verse is used by sinners who when confronted about their sin, try to use it to condemn those who point the sin out in their lives.
What you have done by using that verse as a warning against xzins is to tacitly accuse him of being guilty of the same sin as Weiner.
Stop it, newbie (may 2011)...you're killin' me.
As I understand your interpretation of scripture, people are not allowed to use their brain. Jesus, on the other hand, said that I should love the Lord with my heart, soul, MIND, and strength. Using my mind, I recognize that Weiner has at no point mentioned anything whatsoever to do with Jesus.
Paul says, in 1 Co 2:15 "The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment. In 1 Co 5:3 he gives an example: "Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present."
He is saying that we must make judgments.
Paul takes his position from Jesus who cautions that judgment must not be based on "mere appearances" but must be based on "right (just) judgement." John 7:24.
So, PapaNew, you are newbie. Before taking out after a Christian brother you would be wise to "show yourself approved...rightly dividing the Word of Truth."
