I share my colleague Kevin Glass' disgust at this political web "ad," which he correctly describes as profoundly unfunny. It's overtly racist, sexist, and generally despicable (content warning):
Here's a bit of background information on the CA-36 special election, which was triggered by Rep. Jane Harman's (D-Calif.) recent retirement, via the liberal blog TPM:
The election pits Los Angeles Councilwoman Janice Hahn (D) against businessman Craig Huey, a tea party Republican who's second place finish in one of California's first jungle primaries came as a surprise to most. The race to the July 12 runoff has fallen to the national backburner as attention shifted to the NY-26 race and a more general discussion of Rep. Paul Ryan's (R) budget plan.
That could be about to change, thanks to the web ad produced by the brand-new Turn Right USA PAC (Townhall editor's note: hyperlink intentionally removed), which filed its official paperwork last week. Simply put, the ad is Willie Horton on steroids.

Agreed, I thought it was funny too. Don’t know how good idea it was, but I don’t think it was too off the mark in getting the point across or it was racist, sexist, etc.

One of the comments on the Townhall site speculates that the ad, and the group that made it, are a Soros-born mock-up.

What a Funny Video and how well pointed at the Progressive/Liberal/(Democrats=Socialist) Party.
Catchy tune as well. I would say it was caricatured, rather than racist.
Frankly, I thought it wasn’t beyond the pale. Tell me that this doesn’t happen and I’ll not believe you, tell me it does and I find that VERY beliveable.
Did she get black gang members released from prision? Did she pull the liberal stupid move to cozy up to criminals like Dems in Congress and White Hut cozy up to the Muslim Brotherhood? Do these claims made in the commercial check out as facts? That is treasonous if she is of this mind and got gangsters released from prison. One could say she is acting the whore for a criminal hip hop element (black gang members) like Obammy acts the bowing subject of the Saudi King. Liberals prefer the evil ones - our enemies - and hate Americans and our allies.
The Left’s race baiting hysteria aside, did the commercial get those points across in a hip hop, California sort of way? The run of the mill California voters is not the run of the mill Manhattan voter. Was the commerical targeted at trying to reach a seriously dumbed down population in California who know socialist slogans, shallow political jokes, gansters and hip hop and not much more.
All the race baiting is flack trying to protect this liberal candidate from the idiocy of her actions. The day will come when we will be so overwhelmed by Obama’s muslim brothers in the US due to liberal pc policy that we will be running commercials like this on liberals in a Muslim ass kissing framework in the future.

One would have to be a total moron to believe that actual conservatives supporting the Republican candidate created this.
