My son brought home a pit bull puppy 10 years ago. He is a freaking lap dog, cuddler. 60 pounds, lets the cat boss him around. Very mellow companion.
Get them as puppies and be firm and consistent, any dog is capable of being a fluffball; however, they’re still animals and any breed can lash out if threatened, regardless of the perception of the threat.
That being said, I would be weary about any dog from the pound since their pedigree is often questionable and their upbringing unknown.
