Sean Parnell comes across as a faithful Sarah Palin loyalist in the Palin emails released last week, sending her information about critic Andrew Halcro, praying for her and defending the oil tax increase hes now trying to roll back.
Parnell, now Alaskas governor, was always publicly supportive of Palin when he was her lieutenant governor. The Palin emails only reinforce that, showing him supporting her behind the scenes, and checking with her before he made speeches. Like all lieutenant governors, he was eager to be a part of the governor's decision-making.
On the evening of Aug. 29, 2007 Palin sent Parnell an email with the subject line Pray for wisdom
For us, for the team... And may God's will be done with His resources, Palin emailed from her blackberry.
Parnell emailed her back 10 minutes later.
I just pulled into my driveway after having prayed for wisdom for you in this . Thankful we serve the same Creator. Also, thank you for including me in the discussion. It meant a lot to be able to participate.
The email string doesnt say what issue they were discussing. But the next day Palin announced the beleaguered state-owned Matanuska Maid dairy would be offered for sale after losing nearly $300,000 the previous month. Palin had acted earlier in the summer to stop the creamery board from selling the operation, citing concerns for what that would do to dairy farmers.

If this is meant to be a hit, I’m not sure I see the point.
As Lieutenant Governor, he has an obligation to advise the Governor if he thinks she is wrong, but also an obligation to support her decisions and work with her.
As Governor, after Sarah had resigned, he has a right to do what he thinks best.
It’s not a ‘hit’ however, now Parnell appears to be reversing course and I’m wondering with all the mud-slinging that has been directed toward Palin, all the hateful remarks and out and out lies that have been told, where Parnell has been. In addition, what was his reaction on the release of the emails.
I guess Parnell has to worry about his own political career, although he would be unwise to attack Palin.
But with Lisa Murkowski stepping in and regaining the Senate, much of the good work that Palin did in ousting the so-called Corrupt Bastard’s Club has now been undone. I suspect that the corrupt Republicans who used to flourish there will make a return. I don’t know if Parnell has the strength and ability to fight that, or if he will be forced to go along with it, or simply forced out.
You’re probably right. Parnell didn’t strike me as the kind of person to stand up if under pressure. I watched Palin the day she made the announcement she was resigning and Parnell appeared to be somewhat of a mouse. Of course this is only mo and based on impressions.
That’s why I posted it.
