One of the things that bothers me the most is the description of “an operation turned tragic”. They knew damn well that someone would die. They counted on it as a means of attacking our 2nd amendment rights.
They just didn’t expect the deaths to lead back to government.

Completely disagreed!! The plan was to use the chaos/mayhem produced by giving guns to criminals as the platform to pass new gun laws. In a nutshell it was about further erosion of our 2nd A rights. Its no more complex than that.

I cant think of a single, logical strategy as to why this would have worked, Forcelli said. This was a catastrophic disaster.Think outside the box.
We the People weren't supposed to know, so the Domestic Enemies in DC could then use the carnage as an pretense to enact anti-2nd Amendment legislation.
Disarm the Peasants for the coming chaos.

So with all this out in the open, is there *any* reason to keep the ATF around?

As another FReeper pointed out on another thread yesterday, while the BATFE and DOJ have been stonewalling every attempt to get to the bottom of this corrupt enterprise, they were able, in record time, to provide Schumer, Feinstein and Whitehouse all the BS they required for their newly-published report on "HALTING U.S. FIREARMS TRAFFICKING TO MEXICO".
The agenda is crystal clear to anyone who's paying attention.

Forcelli also added that while the ATF was ordering gun dealers to sell to straw buyers under surveillance, gun dealers were taking the heat for it, and being held responsible for violence in Mexico. And that's exactly what this was all about: An attack on the 2nd Amendment and law abiding gun owners and dealers.

The large number of guns sold is the smoking gun. (no pun intended).
If they had really wanted to just trace how the guns were used, only a handful would have been involved.
The fact that the number is in the thousands clearly shows the intent. They wanted a weapon (no pun intended again) to use against against gun owners.
That in fact is what did happen. The media kept talking about U.S. guns being responsible for crime in Mexico. Suddenly the media has almost completely quit pushing that story.
I wonder why?

Felony Murder doctrine. Maybe if there were whores involved we’d be hearing about this in the regular media.

New emails released by House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa show that ATF Director Kenneth Melson was briefed weekly about Operation Fast and Furious and watched a live feed of straw purchasers (who serve as middle men, purchasing guns and giving them to cartel members) in Arizona gun shops from his cozy Washington D.C. office. This man needs to be up on charges of Capital Murder.

Of course it was.It was planned so that they could prove their claims of US guns making thier way to the drug cartels even if that wasn’t true.

Do we have information on WHEN this was implemented? Was it hussein’s regime that started this....or before?
To: Kaslin
This was NOT an attempt to control the smuggling of guns to the failed nation state of Mexico.
This was an attempt by the Obama junta to get gun control back on the front burner & to energize the party to pass laws to make owning semi auto firearms a major felony and to plant in the minds of the non gun owning public that gun owners are the moral equivalent of cartel gun men.
Did the bastards in Washington D.C. know that people were gonna die ? Absolutely they are known to have basically bragged about what the effects of the operation were in Mexico & gloating about it . HEADS NEED TO ROLL !!!
Sadly however the guilty will walk because they are Federal LEO’s.

Maybe Homeland Security can get in on the act - they could go down with the TSA and pat down grandmothers going grocery shopping... It won’t do a damn thing about the gun issue, but lots of liberals will feel good about themselves.
