I agree except for #3. I’m not sold that the media is trying to keep Palin out. I think the idea that the MSM/Dems fear her the most is pure nonsense. But if I’m wrong, I think the candidate they would push to keep her out would be Rick Perry. If Rick Perry gets in (which is seeming more likely) what is Palin’s argument for running against him?
I know MB is your gal, and you don’t see or want to see the Palin stopping aspect to her sudden support—Chris Matthews, who’s mocked her mercilessly for being stupid, all of a sudden can’t say enough good things about her?—but Palin is the only threat to a Romney nomination. The only one. (I agree, a number of Dems underestimate her against Obama, though clearly Obama’s team doesn’t.)
Perry is not a dynamic, national-class pol, in my opinion, and his ringer-for-W speech and mannerisms will put too many people off. But you’re right, he is another complication for Palin, which explains his being talked up so much now as well.
Because we have already had two "George Bush" presidencies, and don't need a third.
I differ with your point of view, on just this one thing:
The media IS trying to keep Palin out.*
How do we know this? Let’s look at how the media operates.
Rick Perry is a good guy and I like him. But he has his own issues that are deeply offensive to conservatives. He is in favor of in-state tuition for illegals. While he claims Gov. Brewer is right to fight the feds as she has, he insists that an AZ-type law “won’t work in TX.” This means he is unwilling to tell big business....NO.
Suddenly the same media that just a month ago decided that Bachmann was bat-chit crazy, suddenly sounds Jeffersonian. You don’t find that a bit odd?
The same woman willing to cut federal funding to the BONE, is in favor of ethanol subsidies, the subsidies to her husband’s psychological practice (via an online diploma mill), her family gets farm subsidies for the family farm they inherited (far as I know, she hasn’t rejected them) and I haven’t even looked into the charter school she supposedly started. Was this completely privately funded? I don’t know.
While MB claims to be someone who has headed and run a business, I see no evidence of that. But I’m willing to be proven wrong and I hope you can. But so far, what I see is someone who has figured out a way to get on the gov’t gravy train, and call it capitalism.
* just watch how much media energy is spent on Kucinich and Ron Paul.
They don’t attack sure losers, do they?

Ummm...maybe that she isn't a statist, open-borders RINO?
I'm glad to have a chance to jump in on a pro-Palin point...I'm usually the skunk at the picnic here pointing out that she can't win. What she has over Perry is that IF she were to get the nomination, conservatives could enthusiastically support her (albeit almost certainly in a losing cause).
Guys like Perry and Mitt? Well, I don't want to have to do all that research on 3rd parties, thank you.
