As an Indian, I am behind Hanoi on this. I hope our government does the same. The more multilateral each dispute with China ends up becoming, the less haggling room the Chinese will have. Better chance that India gets a favorable settlement to our border dispute as well.

India needs to do a Gwadar in Vietnam just to prove a point to the Chinese. And maybe pass a few nuclear warheads to Vietnam if Chinese gets too belligerent.
