Perry has
promoted policies which have enabled the private sector to create
d more jobs in one state than Obama has in the entire country.
Because government does not create jobs that add anything to our economy, only those that take from it.

That’s rich. I have never heard anything about that — your gossip looks pretty, well, gossipy and being human, makes me suspicious of all your “informed” rumors.
Gardasil? Look up. I posted a link to that. Everyone can choose, they always could.

I will have to ask my family member who actually has guarded Perry as a State Patrol Officer if what you say is true. I will have to ask him his opinion of the man and I will pass it on to Freepers.
By the way if you want to rumor monger, put in a link. Thank you.

On the whole, I’ve been pretty proud of our legislature during this term. They have done some really good, conservative things.
I certainly hope that the did indeed drive a stake through the heart of the Trans-TX proposal and that it will never raise it’s ugly head again.

If your shoes match your belt, gays assume you’re in the closet. You should offer some real proof.

Is it true that Perry was Al Gore’s campaign manager in Texas?

Teachers are marching on the TX Capital because they didn't get as much as they want (they call this situation "cuts"). Perry has refused to give them what they want from the "Rainy Day" fund -- preferring instead to hold some back to help cover the increase in Health Care costs that will be laid on the states.
TX School Board of Education standards for social studies appealed to feds - NAACP and LULAC contend they play down KKK's violence
Governor: Texas should move to online textbooks
It would really help the debate if FReepers posting comments about policy decisions would post a link to where their points are in print so others can research them and not just rely on second hand reports.

Is it true that Perry was Al Gores campaign manager in Texas? Wiki...
Perry supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic presidential primaries and was chairman of the Gore campaign in Texas.
In 1989, The Dallas Morning News named him one of the most effective legislators in the 71st Legislature. That same year, Perry announced that he was joining the Republican Party.

Whick SOS was he supposedly caught with? The second one, I forget his name, except that it was a Spanish name. Both his sec'ies of state were "similar" in most respects. Including, presumably, stance.

In 1988. He switched party's the next year. He was actually known as a budget cutting Democrat back in the Legislature in the 80's and seen as a rising star, even being lauded by the Dallas Morning News (who now hates him of course). He became Ag Commissioner beating the Dem who held the position in 89 (the same year Ann Richards won the governors seat)
He ran for Lt. Governor after Bob Bullock retired in 1999.
To give you an idea of old school Texas Democrats, Bob Bullock, Democrat, endorsed Bush for the Governors seat.
