Boehner adds to calls for Weiner resignation

House Speaker John Boehner on Tuesday joined President Barack Obama and a chorus of other Democrats in suggesting that Rep. Anthony Weiner resign, while a member of Weiner's New York congressional delegation said she expects him to quit soon.

Boehner, who until now has let Democrats wrestle with Weiner's sexually charged messages and photos to several women, responded with a one-word answer when reporters asked whether Weiner should quit.

"Yes," he responded.

Earlier, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, D-N.Y., told reporters, "Hopefully, we are hearing he might resign in a couple of days." She did not say how she learned that Weiner may soon buckle under the pressure.

Weiner is seeking professional help at an undisclosed location. His wife, State Department official Huma Abedin, is due back from an overseas trip early Wednesday.

The GOP has disgracefully earned the reputation as the party of “No, well, oh OK.”

If they stand any chance of winning a veto-proof majority in 2012, they need to show leadership.

As speaker of THE HOUSE, Crybaby should have come out with guns blasting demanding not only that Wiener needs to resign but that the House is considering a probe to ensure his activities did not compromise national security.

Had he done so, the leftist Dems would realize they can’t assume they’ll get away with reckless lawlessness under his watch.

I know who the enemy is... just remember that I am NOT a republican and FR is not a republican site. While I would never vote for a dim... the days of me supporting a candidate because of an “r” by their name is long over. I am on a mission to help save America and some of our enemies are solidly in the rinoid camp... and they need to be purged or we will drive a stake through the heart of the republican party... they did it to the Whigs and we will do it to them if they turn on us as they have done in so many elections.

My point is that when Republicans become the focus of rage at the expense of focusing on the Marxists who are destroying the country, there is a problem.

Boehner is flawed and sometimes weak, but he can be persuaded to do the right thing. He is far from my first choice as Speaker, but he's not the devil incarnate as some anti-Republicans on this site make him out to be.

There are a dozen or more stupid, pointless posts of anti-Republicans trying to be cute on every thread about Boehner.

Party before country is no way to go through life. I have worked on the front lines of battle for the gop... I have given over $100,000 over the years... I have walked the neighborhoods and called on phone banks and collected money for them. I do not owe them anything and except for Reagan... they have screwed over me every single time... to one degree or another.

This time we are on the verge of collapse... we cannot endure another term of progressive marxism from either party. We do not have the luxury of electing someone that will try to move us in the right direction through incrementalism. We need someone of true Conservative ideology... someone that has been who they are for all of their lives... someone that has been vetted and not come up lacking... and if the party nominates a pawlenty or a santorum or a romney... millions of us will revolt. You need to stop worrying about what we on the far right think and start worrying about and threatening your leadership to quit promoting another mclame and nominate a true Conservative. I will get back to you. abc has been reporting that dims involved in negotiations have stated that they are close. boehner promised no raise in the debt ceiling without an equal or greater cut in spending. The compromise seems to consist of 2.8 Trillion in new spending and around 1 Trillion in cuts over a ten year period. We have 66.7 Trillion dollars in unfunded mandates... already spent the money on other programs... and 15 Trillion is deficit debt to china... how much do you think a 1 Trillion dollar cut over ten years... which using boehner’s formula used on the Continuing Resolution would actually work out to be a few billion at most... how do you think that is going to save our economy and Nation?

boehner should be voted out of office and removed as Speaker even before that happens. Your political ideology has allowed tenure to choose leaders like boehner... and congressmen “lightbulb” who chairs the Energy Committee to rise to the top... just like sewage in a septic tank. I dislike having to debate this with you... I know you are not a liberal... but I have to do that which I know in my heart and mind are the correct thing to do. People like Rush and Levin are saying the exact same things... I am in no way the enemy that you paint. You cannot use reverse psychology or guilt on those of us who remain true to Conservatism. These times are unlike any we have ever lived through... enemies within are winning... and the future of what kind of Country that we are going to live in going forward is what is at stake in the upcoming election. We have this election and only this election to get our boat set right again. Half measures and moderate politicians will no longer suffice.

No amount of republican talking points will change reality and those of us that see the true path, will battle our way to Victory. We will defeat dims and republican leaders if we have to. It will be their fault if it happens... and steps that will enable them are a losing strategy. No further discussion on this will do anything and it will only waste time and energy. Put some of your energy into attacking those on the left and allow us on the right to follow our chosen path... a path to Victory and then on to setting our Nation right and putting it back under the rule of our Constitution.

boehner and the rinos cannot even handle SPENDING when they CONTROL the House and all SPENDING ORIGINATES IN THE HOUSE. The dims blocked all cuts when we had the White House and the Senate... they controlled the House and no spending cuts were made... but then again... our side always fails... because we elect moderate compromisers while the left elects evil demons that actually believe in what they are doing.
