I'm as opposed to “The Obama” as anyone, but I honestly do not remember him promising to “stop AIDS now”.

Now, he made a LOT of promises which he has, thankfully in most cases, subsequently broken, so I can understand MANY of his former supporters being VERY disappointed in him, but failing to “stop AIDS now” seems like an unfair accusation to make — even against Obama.

By the way, I have not been disappointed in any way by Mr. Obama’s performance as president. Disappointment would require him to have in some way failed to live up to my expectations. And so far, he has pretty much been EXACTLY what I expected him to be.

Yeah, most ridiculous heckler possible, but I think we’re mixing the sloganeering of “Stop AIDS” with the actual beef.... which is that Obama cut AIDS funding, both in the US and Africa.

He cut Bush’s strong programs, and then started his own, that I guess aren’t up to the AIDS activist standards of hopey changey progress.
