The US House of Representatives voted to prohibit the use of funds for American military operations in Libya. Lawmakers adopted the amendment to a military appropriations bill by a vote of 248 to 163.
A number of members of Congress have recently expressed their dissatisfaction at President Barack Obama's decision to go ahead with operations in Libya in March and to continue without congressional authorization.
The amendment, introduced by Democratic representative Brad Sherman from California, invokes the War Powers Resolution, a 1973 law that limits presidential powers on sending troops abroad into combat zones without the consent of Congress.
Sherman's text states that "none of the funds made available by this act may be used in contravention of the War Powers Act."

Well, we’re still giving money to NATO, and according to Obama it’s NATO that’s doing the intervention (or whatever they’re calling it). So... this vote won’t have any impact on anything.
Ah. I knew it was too good to be true. NATO has outlived its purpose.
DEFUND the FEDS and state legislators. Make them part-time with 1/8th pay, NO BENEFITS, NO PERKS...RETROACTIVE. Note what it (socialism) has done/is doing to us. DEFUND all socialist collectives. The U.S.A. becomes financially solvent and we become very low-taxed prosperous/productive citizens in a country which acts as a beacon for individual liberty.
I do not view it that way at all.
The bulk of NATO are the same people who took on tyrannical powers. The bulk of those same peoples also rode together to the Christian Crusades.
Perhaps a better idea is to re-purpose NATO , re-fund and re direct it instead of allowing Obama to use it to further his Islamic agenda...phase one of the caliphate.
It is now the heavy weapons support for Moslems in the Balkans, Moslems in North Africa, and socialists in the presently degenerate nations of Europe. It has become the armored fist of current tyrannical powers and is reduced to mere janissaries. Once again, we pay to strengthen our enemies, which includes the EU.
It should be dissolved.

There has been another significant defection by a long time Gaddafi loyalist. Also, the rebels have broken out of Misurata and are now fighting for Dafniya which is 25 miles closer to Tripoli.
Meanwhile, additional reports of using rape and Viagra as a weapon of war are in the news. I think this man, Gaddafi, with his 40 Amazon body guard is quite capable of thinking of such a thing.

A process that self-destructive that is so self-immolating should instead be towards its natural and final conclusion free of harm on those innocent for its passing.
Again Congress has a right to pass laws,this one is fair enough but the intention behind-coming from that quarter.Is all a bit suspect.Otherwise might save us a buck or two.
