I guess there’s no chance that they’ll bring the c—t cap back. I really liked that cap.
This is very good news.
However, we always wear the patrol cap during field exercises (the article seemed to imply otherwise).
I can’t wait to ditch that stupid beret. We’re supposed to all wear the same uniform, but no two berets look alike. I wonder if I could get away with buying the service cap and using that instead of the beret with the Army Service Uniform?

And for all you Shinseki naysayers—he also spearheaded Army transformation into the far superior BCT system we have today and he was one of the few who was correct on what it would take to win quickly and decisively in Iraq. He was also fired for it.

This has proven to be every bit as popular as Zumwalt’s Navy uniform experiments back in the 70’s were. The number one thing that Sailors wanted back was the Cracker Jack dress blues uniform, instead of the half-assed Air Force messcook uniforms old Elmo came up with...
At least the army didn’t go back to making the troops grease the hair with lard and powdering it with flour.....

I wore a black beret (French style rather than military style) to work shortly after the Shinseky decision, announcing to co-workers that the General’s announcement included Navy retirees.
It was a dumb stupid ignorant ridiculous ideal from day one, and that applies to the fool that thought it up.
Thank God!!! Clinton’s passion for the very gay beret was about as horrible a move as he ever made.

They should go back to the Ridgeway style caps, not the baseball caps.
In some ways the beret wasn’t practical. Having 2 uniforms instead of 3, though, makes sense. And, if you recall, the blue uniform predated the greens by at least one Revolutionary and Civil War. The green Class A’s didn’t show up until the 1950’s.
I’d get rid of the whites, too.
You’d have your cammies and your service uniforms. That’s it. Saves on money. Saves on time.
I don’t especially like the fruit salad, either. I’d find some other way to display that.
