Leading Lib Blog Viciously Attacks Gov. Rick Perry For Being Christian (Video)

They don’t even hide it anymore. Today’s left openly spews hate at Christians.

Leading Soros-funded leftist blog Think Progress attacked Governor Rick Perry today for being Christian… Because Christians are bad people.

As Perry is poised to sign the most draconian state budget in recent history that slashes essential services for the poor and middle class while potentially laying off 100,000 teachers, Kyle Mantyla of Right Wing Watch Kyle digs up this gem of an interview from May in which the governor sheds some light on his motivations. During an appearance on James Robison’s Life Today television program, Perry says he sees a silver lining to the devastating recession that has cost millions of families their jobs, homes, and livelihoods: it will return America to “Biblical principles” and free us from the slavery of big government:

PERRY: I think in America from time to time we have to go through some difficult times — and I think we’re going through those difficult economic times for a purpose, to bring us back to those Biblical principles of you know, you don’t spend all the money. You work hard for those six years and you put up that seventh year in the warehouse to take you through the hard times. And not spending all of our money. Not asking for Pharaoh to give everything to everybody and to take care of folks because at the end of the day, it’s slavery. We become slaves to government.

Here’s the “offensive” interview in question where Governor Perry suggests that life challenges can lead us to God. What an outrage.

Perry ran for political office as a Democrat and won.

He was an AlGore campaign guy for Texas.

He's a RINO.

Now, is he a Liberal? That's the real question. At the moment he's still an Open Border guy ~ and that's a nonstarter for Conservatives.

That George Soros doesn't like him doesn't mean he's not a RINO ~ that's a strictly partisan political situation ~ not ideological at all.

Stick with the historic meaning and you'll figure this out easier.

“At the moment he’s still an Open Border guy ~ and that’s a nonstarter for Conservatives.”

Can you provide a definition of Open Border Guy with regards to Perry?

In case you’re not aware, there are significant state resources on the border. Just last week there was a shootout that included TPWL, TX Rangers, DPS, and Sheriffs Depts.

This is not supposed to be the job of the State of Texas. It is the job of the feds.

Thanks for the history lesson but I live in Texas and am from here and voted for Perry since I was able. Perry was a Democrat in 1988. He's 61. He was the first Republican ever elected as Lt. Governor in Texas. So almost 25 years ago he was a Southern Texas Dem who changed party's when the party left them. I remember Phil Gramm changing party's in the 80' too. He's staunchly pro life, pro business, ex-military, eagle scout, member of the American Legion, created 850,000 jobs over his tenure as governor and more jobs since Obama has been in office than all the states combined.

Palin devotees have been bashing him as a RINO non stop when Palin and Perry are basically on the same team.

Perry is not a RINO, McCain, Lindsey Graham, Mitt Romney are RINO's.

I know the meaning but thanks for your condescending comment anyway.

I think it’s a job that must be shared. We certainly have enough cops on duty in this nation that if we adhere to “See one, Bag one” we’ll work our way through the problem machschnell.

Lay off 100,000 teachers? I think Texas has 24 million people. That would mean they were laying off 1 teacher for every 240 residents. This is why the Left has no credibility - their statistics are all made up.

Palin is a good person. She wants a real man to finally step up to the plate. If the GOP continues to push effete losers such as Boehner, Newt and Romney then she’ll go get ‘em. But if a real man like Perry is ready and willing to step up to the plate then I don’t think Palin will give him a hard time.

BTW, it's the federales job to "establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization"

That is NOT IMMIGRATION ~ which is a whole 'nuther matter. In fact that was included in a section that prohibited states from importing people after a certain date unless they paid a tax on them.

I think the target population were slaves.

Here's your problem ~ at the time the Constitution was written there were not millions of people lined up to come here. Sure, it was usually better for them to be here than to be in just about any other place, they didn't know that!

Eventually we became a refuge for the wretched refuse ~ and finally we became a modern civilization with toilets and everything.

That's when we came up with restrictive immigration laws. But back there when the Constitution was written the most pressing immigration problem was setting up uniform rules regarding naturalization!

We need to bring our Constitution up to date! We can get that modernization going if we can get a 3/4 majority in the House and start writing up some new amendments that clarify that AMERICA IS FOR AMERICANS and you can come here as a visitor, but you don't acquire rights of citizenship no matter what else the Constitution might say about "the people".

That sort of thing.

I agree. I like Palin and believe she has a deep love for this country and senses the political winds pretty well. I liken her to a Samuel Adams for today (NOT a George Washington!) I have been frustrated at her backers on FR tearing into Perry when he is the strongest candidate hands down when you compare his record to Obama’s. It’s frustrating when a pro gun, pro life, pro military, ex military, states rights, tax cutting, budget cutting governor of the most successful state in the Union is now considered a RINO.

Perry defined himself as a classical RINO when he ran for office and won as a Democrat and then jumped to run with George Bush later on after a long career as a professional Democrat politician.

We used such people to bust the Solid South.

We no longer need them.

Time to dump the RINOs.

Like Ann Coulter says, the Libs are better at spotting Republican talent than the republicans are. I never gave much notice to Rick Perry before this, but if the Libtards hate him this much, I’m gonna start paying attention!

Alas, the classical RINO is the Democrat who wasn't making the headway in his own party he thought he might and we'd bring him over to help the Republican ticket win.

He's a RINO ~ and he's soft on illegal aliens.

That right there is a non-starter, but it's not unexpected in a Texan. There are people who make a lot of money by slipping in Mexicans, paying them less than minimum wage, and using them like serfs.

The day of the RINO is long past. It's time to cut them out of the Republican game and send them back to their buddies.

All it does is displace real Conservatives who would otherwise be rising up through the ranks and getting a shot at the job now being wasted on another RINO.

Perry switched party's in 88-89. He ran against the Democrat for Ag Commissioner and won while Ann Richards was winning the governors seat in Texas. When the Democrat Lt. Governor Bullock retired (while Bush was governor) Perry ran for Lt. Governor and won being the first Republican ever elected in Texas to that position.

Well while a Democrat he was lauded by the Dallas Morning News as one of Texas best Legislators and was known as a budget cutter. He had no reason to switch based on Party headway as he was a rising star. The 80’s were a time when the Dem party was lurching left and the Republicans were lurching right. Perry went with his moral values and upbringing during this time. If you notice Al Gore in 88 was a conservative Dem who lurched far left, Perry stuck to his values and had to change party's. Perry is an old school Texan, A&M grad, Air Force pilot with a stellar record who has fought Obama from every possible angle as an executive. Perry is the real deal.
